Yes. I always loved Relapse since it came out. When I got addicted to opioids and got dependant on them I wanted to end it all. I took them to feel normal. I started listening to Relapse again and it hit harder than ever. He helped me get clean again. I'm clean from them now, but will I let them go forever? I don't think so, but I will never abuse them again. I work out, I eat healthy etc. I think it's okay if you take them sometimes. It's accepted that people drink alcohol, I just don't drink. I get super depressed of alcohol. I still want to get a buzz sometimes and keep my mind off things. Just keep your usage in check and don't make it your life.

@@garyraffa5515 Hey. You've got this. I cannot BELIEVE I am saying this (I can never show my husband this🤫), but do or do not, there is no try. Did I say that right? That's what Yoda said, right? Don't come for me, people, okay??? I hope that made you smile, at least. I may be a dork, but I a dork that's in your corner - and I know that I'm not the only one, my friend. I will be thinking of you and everyone else (and for myself as well...loving ourselves is the hardest part. I fucking suck at it. Can't stand to look in the mirror. I keep myself awake at night thinking about the shit I've done...I promise you - I'm here). We can stumble, we can trip, we can fall, just as long as we don't give up. At least that's what I tell myself. It's so hard on the bad days, let alone the days I can barely function with my husband and kids. If life were easy we wouldn't be getting great songs like this to unite us. I don't feel like I'm saying what I'm trying to say. Just...if we are all here commenting on this page about this stuff, not just this thread, we have a common bond. And it comes from a place of love. Hate - those that enable us or don't believe in us or give up on us or tear us down - makes you ugly and nobody likes ugly people. Beauty comes from within. WE are beautiful. I'm still not saying it how I want. I'm in your corner, okay? Sitting right there with you and the others who want to sit yet walking right there with others who want to walk. Bc we all need each other.

If you want to expand on this song - create a playlist and put these songs in this order: Castle (Revival) Mr. Mathers (Relapse) Deja Vu (Relapse) Arose (Revival) These songs together tell a coherent story from his overdose in the bathroom (Castle ends with him collapsing), the paramedics picking him up (Mr. Mathers) then a flashback to the drug addiction that lead to said overdose (Deja Vu) then finally to his recovery/epiphany in the hospital (Arose). It all fits together quite seamlessly.

Stevie got it wrong, he says "Wouldn't even be takin this shit is Deshaun(Proof) didn't die, oh yeah there's an excuse, ya loose pussy, you're used." He is obviously talking about Proof, but in that line he's just explaining how many times he's used that excuse to keep doing what he's doing.

And I had never thought about the wine part. How do you measure what a half of a cup of wine is when you don't specify what type of 'vessel' you are drinking from? At my worst I was drinking from a mason jar. I told myself I was having just a half of a cup. Of a fucking MASON JAR. 🤦

‘Take a Vicodin, Splash, it hits my stomach and, ahhh’ This is such a tough lyric for anybody who’s ever been in this position. Years ago hearing this bar when I was in the depths of addiction literally made me salivate and wanting to use, now it makes me almost feel sick, either way the way it hits isn’t any less. Crazy the picture he can paint and make you understand with just words whether you have been through addiction or not

The crazy thing is any addict has those same conversations with themselves, always trying to rationalize why you doing what you doing. Shit Em has saved me, literally with his music I been down the same road and his music has helped me through my addiction problem I've been sober for 8 years and his music was a big help through my recovery, he has a song for every step you go through addiction. This song, going through changes, Talking to myself, Not afraid, Beautiful Pain, Arose the list goes on. That's why I will always support him no matter what,💯

Myself included. You wanna go home and just eat and chill after work but you're lonely af inside so you drink/do drugs to fend off the depressed part of your brain that controls you. Life's rough. Such a dope breakdown of the struggle.

Yeah for sure. Especially when he says "Wow wtf happened last night? Where am I? Fuck am I hungover, and god damn I, got a headache. Shit, half a vicodin, why cant I? All systems ready for take off. Please stand by." I was caught in that cycle. I never had thought I had a problem with pills or cocaine. I thought it was the alcohol. So I'd wake up and take a vicodin or perk to feel better, then once i felt better I'd hit the liquor store. And then once i had a buzz I'd do some coke to counteract the pills and alcohol. And I did that shit everyday for 2 years until this song finally set In.

Killer track. Figuratively and literally. And its Such a good album too, that is way underrated and hated on. Its actually a true horrorcore story masterpiece and this song is a true story, HIS story, from maybe the best horror core album of all time and made thus far. Imma fan of horror: films tv books. All my life. Since I watched The Excorcist (by myself, alone in the house, with the lights off. It was terrifying but oh so deliciously horrific 😂) and The Evil Dead at age 13, and started reading Clive Barker at the same age. And my favorite Em is the Em that goes brutally dark and brutally honest. In this album, he does it the WHOLE album. And It’s spectacular. An album that was ahead of its time in some ways. I think one day it will be revisited. And reassessed. And recognized for what it really is: a nasty, sick flowed, bad ass thick beated, imaginatively gruesome, with layered vocals, vivid lyricism, a sometimes way to real, but unabashedly honest MASTERPIECE.
