In Missouri you can be in the middle of nowhere, not a gas station for the last 15 miles, but I guarantee you done past two or three Dollar generals. I was working about 20 minutes out of this small town in the middle of the woods and the next little dirt road led to a little paved road that had a feed store and across the road was a Dollar general. They are everywhere!

DG possibly has the highest numbers of cameras per square foot. Theyre a lot of fun to wire for their low voltage stuff. Franklin NB blew my mind when I was allowed to buy a bottle of jack and a box of 12ga shells in the same transaction but the coolers were chained closed on sunday. 😅

Fun fact - every reason listed is exactly why i quick shopping DG. Worst experience ever was Helen GA Dollar General - every freaking ilse slammed full with 6ft high carts of boxes. Couldnt find half of what i needed. Couldnt walk down half the isles. Finally said screw it and drove 15mins away to shop at Ingles and got EVERYTHING i needed!

I worked at a Dollar General for about 3 months. They tried to make my general manager stretch 27 hours of labour for 1 week across 7 employees. That merch is always in the middle of the aisle because the one or two employees in the store can't run registers and stock merchandise at the same time.

If it's in the aisle in a rolltainer it is for sale most likely. Dollar General receives all of their merchandise at once when the deliver is completed. I used to deliver to dollar general stores and it is literally a scan of a barcode to receive all of their order in one shot.

It does feel like in Florida you can tell how far something is by the number of DG you pass. If it’s just a few miles? Oh just past the 4th dollar tree you turn left. If it’s really far That’s about 25 to 30 DGs away.

I tried real hard to make a comment here, partially because I think I had something funny to add to this already hilarious video, but mostly because Marshall Patrick don't pester his audience to like/comment/subscribe because his content speaks for itself. However, apparently at some point in time he hit a soft spot and called out some BS the government or some big corporation has done because the comment box was completely missing!!! I tried reloading the video, restarting the app, using a different device, etc. I put half an hour into trying to say something until I forgot what I was gonna say. Furthermore, one time I made a comment on a Marshall Patrick video and got 2 responses from the man himself, and it was a moment I couldn't wait to share with my wife, my children and preserve for future generations to know that one time, Marshall Patrick responded to one of my comments on his videos and that is the highlight of my life. And then, because that video made a bit of a commentary on the level of corruption in the government, the dang video got deleted and now the highlight of my life exists only in my head and when I talk about it with the in-laws at Thanksgiving dinner, I can't prove it no more and it makes me wonder why the heck I should even feel motivated to carry on. But for the sake of the possibility that I may get a belly chuckle from a future Marshall Patrick video and then after that make a comment to try to pretend like I'm part of the video even though I'm actually nobody and my comment isn't funny, maybe, just maybe Marshall Patrick will respond to my comment, so I will suck it up and carry on.

Too many people making them change the price to what the tag said it's just easier to have a real person do it. The one I go to the manager is actually pretty nice and runs her butt off trying to make things right. She tells me she is just as frustrated as customers.

I live in a "town" that consists of 2 gas stations, a butcher/meat packer, and a DG. I'm there 2-3 times a week picking up a couple little things we need to make dinner, or maybe grab some TP, or cold medicine for the family, etc. And it's 40+ dollars every damn time I check out. But am I gunna drive 7 more miles & suffer through a trip to Walmart after work to save $4.50? Hell no. I'll wait in line behind 4 other people while juggling 9 items, waiting on the only employee (a haggard old lady named Princess) to check me out right next to the Self Checkout machines that aren't turned on.

Wierdest thing about DG, and the reason there are always rolltainers and uboats foll of merch about the store is that tracking inventory doesn't matter. Corporate just sends trucks with whatever product they want to send. They don't look at the hand counted inventory, and they don't look at what's been selling and what hasen't that the register records for them. They just send 200 frozen pizzas to a store that only has room in the freezer for 15 of them. Shelf full of dog food that no one is buying? here, have 40 bags of dog food. Everyone buying milk? Too bad, you're not getting any this week. DG would be such a better store if they actually used the data they already have and sent store the product they need, and only the product they need.
