Deion once said that to be in the HOF you have to ask if the story of football can be told without you in it. If it can't, you deserve to be a HOF inductee. Marshawn is definitely going to be in it.

That's not a realistically good metric to use though..... Desmond Howard is a SB MVP, you can't tell the story of the NFL without him, is he a HOF WR? Of course not. Marshawn would've been 1st ballot if they gave him the ball and a SB MVP added to his resume, but sadly his stats and accolades alone aren't enough man. Maybe he'll get it 1 day, but several RBs with better stats and accolades aren't in

It's close. Being on that Seahawks team helped him a lot that's for sure. 4 straight high level seasons... a couple other 1,000 yard seasons and then 6 very average years. I would say no but wouldn't really argue if someone said he is in. 31 guys have ran for over 10,000yds.. Jamal Lewis is a good comparison to Marshawn in my opinion... and he's not in the HOF. Ricky Watters is another. Talk about a snub... Watters has 10,643yds and 78TD's in 144 games to Marshawn's 10,413yds and 85TD's in 149 games. One more great comparison is one of my all time fav RB's... Eddie George... 10,441yds and 68TD's 141 games.. somehow not in the HOF. I think a lot of ppl would assume these 3 were in and I bet a lot of ppl believe Eddie George and even Jamal Lewis were better than Marshawn Lynch. I'm not saying Marshawn doesn't deserve it... I just don't think he'll make it. His personality might help tho. Or hurt.. hahaha. Corey Dillon and LeSean McCoy both have over 11,000yds and aren't in. Corey Dillon with 11,241yds. 82TD in 150 games.. Marshawn 10,413 and 85TD's in 149 games. I think that's the best comparison actually. What seems to separate Marshawn tho is his TD's compared to the others. His 85 is way up there. I think Shady might still be eligible tho.. I had to edit that. Hahaha. Eddie and the others still might be eligible to.. I'm no expert. Just enjoy the game and the numbers

Ricky Watters, Corey Dillon And Eddie George all played in run heavy eras. Their main issue is that they played in an era with guys like Barry, Emmitt, Marshall, Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis, LT, and Edgerrin James. Marshawn is the 2nd best back of his era. You could argue Frank Gore or Shady McCoy, but the only RB that's clearly better than Marshawn in his era is Adrian Peterson.
