Story tiiiiimmmmmeeeee: I remember like...2 years ago when I was at a camp that I've been going to for a couple years, I had a major crush on a boy I met there. Amazing, good kid. My friend actually told him I liked him so that was a bit embarrassing. But we were really good friends. Halfway through camp he started ignoring me. And I was really hurt and sad, I actually started crying once at one of our activities. I didn't know what I did and I thought it was my fault. Apparently he was really tired of our friend making jokes about us getting together and so he thought he should've ignored me. I figured he didn't feel the same about me so I started distancing myself from him. He started hanging out with other people, other girls for that matter, which hurt even more. And our friend was really upset about it, and he tried to get us to be friends again. I didn't know what to do. On thursday, a few days away from the end of camp, there was the camp dance. Some of my friends (ones he didn't hangout with) told me I should get over him and have a good time, so that's what I decided to do. I put on some really cute clothes, did make up, and made myself look good for myself. When we got there, in the beginning we both barely talked to each other, only exchanged glances at each other. I kept trying to steer clear of him, because that's what I thought he wanted too. But our friends (the ones we both knew and hanged out with) kept trying to get us closer together and to make up but it kinda just my things worse. So I just had to stay away from him. And I remember this song playing and I remember wanting to break down because I felt so bad. It was so similar to my situation. I couldn't look anyone in the eyes. I wanted to see him smile, but I knew that would mean I had to leave. As in, stop being his friend, or at least not look at him the way I did before. And when he was with other girls? It ate me up inside. I remember going to activities and not being able to look him in the eyes because mine would start tearing up, and he couldn't do the same. The good news is, we eventually became friends again. We were able to talk it out and say sorry and everything. Buuuuuuut then end of camp meant the end of that. So it still kinda ended crappy XD but lesson learned: honestly crushes are a waste of time, at least for me. So when I do somehow have feelings for someone, I now just deny it and push those feelings away, since to me it's not worth having to go through so much pain again. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that lesson until this year, so the years after that experience ended plenty more hurting :')
