I’m confused! Kasatkina, as a Russian, has vocally condemned the war numerous times, and hasn’t been able to return to Russia since. Kostyuk said Russian players haven’t stood up, but if there were ONE Russian player who deserves a handshake for standing up for Ukraine it is Kasatkina, and the danger she has put her family in to take this stand, so I’m not sure what else Kostyuk could want from her, except her simply not being born in that country.

or maybe on the contrary, Dasha was lucky to be born in that country but not in March double standards, continuous propaganda Do Israeli players shake hands? American players? the answer is obvious Dasha is against the war, just like the President of Russia was against it - it’s time to open your eyes

People who write about "no handshake" clearly dont understand what the war is. Thouthands of people are dead, cities destroyed and people in Ukraine live everyday in fear to die. I'm Russian and I also speak up against this war everywhere and support Ukraine with donations etc. but I totally understand why Kostyuk doesn't shake hands at the moment and Im sure that Dasha understand it as well (she also talked about it in one of the interviews). @@NikolayNikolay25 I think there is no need to lecture us on wars, some of us we know very well the bad out comes of these wars, and for your information war, is not in Ukraine only around the world we're sorrounded by wars here in Africa it's even worse than what your talking on Ukraine, Congo is bleeding, sudan, also in the same situation etc but we as Africans we know these wars are being funded by western countries but we can't put any blame to innocent people from those western countries who are war mongers in Africa, we remained welcome to them, though we know that most Western countries put wars in African, so all of us we don't want wars even here in African we're tired of western countries to rob our minerals and put wars in our nations so please don't lecture us on wars, innocent people must not be blamed so to all athelets from Russia and Beralus are not to be blamed any more because they are innocent in that political war. And why don't you blame also America for their envesions they have done to many countries around the world, Iraq, Japan etc pleases and please don't lecture us on wars. @@namuyimbwaflorence4874 you make a lot of assumptions without asking my opinion, that's stupid. I'm also against US invasion to Iraq and NATO to Kosovo for example. I care about war in Ukraine more than wars in Africa because I'm Russian and partly responsible for this war so it's not hard to understand this, I will also care more about wars in Europe and not in Africa because I live in Europe and not in Africa. You probably also care more about what's happening in your neighborhood than in another city. And if you really knew what the war is you would never write stupid comments about handshake when the war is still ongoing.

That's why Ukrainians can't be associated at the moment with anything connected to Russia even with people who are against the war. I'm Russian and I also speak up against this war everywhere and support Ukraine with donations etc. but I totally understand why Kostyuk doesn't shake hands at the moment and Im sure that Dasha understand it as well (she also talked about it in one of the interviews). So please try to understand the situation and at least imagine what the real war is, before you write your "no handshake" comments.

When you don’t even acknowledge the other player with a head nod/smile (as Svitolina has done when playing against Russian players), even though you’ve taken a stance against shaking hands, it comes off as being a sore loser more than standing up for your country.

One of Daria's most solid days on the serve, but pretty awful everything else - lots of unforced errors, in a player as solid as the russian normally is. She'll need much improvement if she wants not to be trashed by Sabalenka.

@@NikolayNikolay25 and that's Daria's fault? EDIT: There is a close racial, ethnic and linguistic tie between Ukrainians and Russians, the fact that West has managed to convince the idiotic Ukrainian leaders to fight with Russia over NATO accession is a crime against humanity. The peace deal was on the table in 2022, he should have signed it, and saved lives. If you're Ukraine, you're safer out of NATO. Stop wanting to be Westerners, they won't have you, nor do they care about your casualties, since they want even more of them!! Wake up

@@BOZ_11 that's a bullshit, Ukraine didn't start this war Russia started it in 2014 by taking Crimea and sponsoring people in the East part to start the civil war, and then Russia started a big war in 2022 and killing thousands of people, it's stupid to blame Ukraine for that. And peace deal wasn't signed because Russia appeared to be not as strong as people thought and Ukraine was able to take a lot of land back before the war line got frozen again. Only Russia can stop this war by moving their army out of Ukraine.

@@NikolayNikolay25 Russia is in the right: "Geo-politics is a playground, I can say (and it's true) that I have the inalienable right to walk down a dimly lit alley in a rough post code, at 3AM. It's still stupid, and that's what Zelenskiy did, and the Finns had to follow." Imagine Mexico joining the Warsaw pact, America would do the same as Russia
