Nelson Freire is great! He always plays with his soul! You're the best!

She's great too but unfortunately I've never seen her playing alive. On the other hand, I saw Nelson Freire sometimes and I just loved him! He transcends everything when he's playing! Unforgettable!

God does it ever let up. Uplifting glorious piece of music played as it should be.

By far the best interpretation of the piece, because except the existing emotions and dynamics I love their big big line - phrase they manage to do from the start to the end of the suite (most pianists cannot phrase very long lines in legato) And I'm really glad for this because it is my favourite classical piece! yes Rachmaninoff composed this in major hehe thank you.

Just a little bit...RUSHED, don't you think? This is a "Horowitz"-style performance, with everything sacrificed for "fireworks" and flashiness. (Oh, Martha! How could you?) I can't believe that their performance coincides with Rach's original score markings...

+CLASSICALFAN100 Well, Rachmaninoff idolized Horowitz. Rachmaninoff also performed this piece with Horowitz in 1940. He also had a proclivity to play his own pieces a lot faster than others and with less rubato (though that may have been an effort to squeeze a certain quantity of music into his recordings at the time) so I have a feeling he wouldn't have minded.
