Spoilers . . . . . Giulia is an alter (alternate identity) of Martha who is the core identity. She has Dissociative Identity Disorder (split personality). In the puppet show, only one baby is born and when she grows up, it shows that we are playing as Martha which confirms that she is the core identity. When her mother beats her with the cane, we see her face crack apart or “split” due to this trauma which creates her alter, Giulia. This is confirmed in the next scene of the puppet show, when we finally see both Giulia and Martha. Giulia was created as an alter to endure the abuse inflicted by her mother so that Martha didn’t have to experience this trauma. This is why Giulia only remembers abuse and has gaps in her memory because she would dissociate and have amnesia when Martha would front (take control of the body). When Martha or Giulia would front, the other alter wouldn’t remember the memories or experiences the other one had. Martha having this disorder is further confirmed because in the recording, her mother said that she found the note which Martha wrote. Remember that Martha and Giulia are separate identities but they inhabit the same body when I’m referencing Giulia vs Martha. Her mother rushes to the lake and says she found her in her underwear and then wouldn’t talk again for days. When her mother finds her at the lake, she calls her “Martha” which makes sense because she is the core identity but during that time, it was Giulia who was fronting the body and not Martha. This is why Giulia is confused that her mother calls her Martha and is hugging her because Giulia only has the memories of her mother being abusive. Giulia pretends to be Martha at that point. Also, her mother didn’t know the difference between Giulia and Martha whereas Lapo knew whenever it was Giulia who was fronting or Martha. Her mother also doesn’t mention a dead body or sister at the lake. And then when Giulia tells her mother, “You killed my sister.” Her mother replies, “What are you saying?! Your sister? Please.. no.. I was not well, I didn’t know what I was saying. So many years have passed. You were little then, I thought everyone had forgotten that nonsense.” This proves that she has no sister, that her mother was indeed abusive because she was not mentally well, and that when Martha was little, her mother knew that Martha would switch between alters. But her mother thought Martha’s disorder went away because years passed and her mother got mentally better which meant that Martha had fronted that whole gap of time to experience the positives since she didn’t need Giulia to front who only took over the body during times of trauma or abuse. Also, Martha was indeed pregnant but Giulia had a miscarriage. That is why she woke up with blood on the sheets. At the end, she is sitting in front of a mirror and signing as Martha and answering her questions as Giulia. Again, this is showing that they are two separate identities inside one body.

@@OhJesseee It's difficult to decipher if any of what Giulia is telling us is true so it's anyone’s guess as to what events actually happened. In my opinion, I think a majority of what happened including the funeral, the body in the coffin, the images she saw in her photos, and talking to the white lady, were all just her own hallucination’s due to taking Pervitin pills which was actually crystal meth used during world war 2. There is a bottle of Pervitin pills in Martha's trinket box. As everything is told in Giulia's perspective, I think the hallucinations contributed a lot to what she wanted to see and believe.

as someone with Borderline Personality Disorder, Martha's splitting was very intense and I feel they captured it very well. Giuilia reminds me of myself because I want to be perfect like my brother. I went to a hospital, multiple over the course of 7 years. Sometimes I am able to convince myself I have done nothing wrong and store it so far in my mind to the point where I can tell you I convinced myself right now, then forget about it. Sometimes I dont have answers other than I dont know where I am or who I am or why I am watching myself instead of fully participating. Her marionettes remind me when I would stay in my room where I felt safe and use some of my objects in my room for roleplay, I still do it, but I dont know why. I have a tub of aquaphor in my room that has stayed in that area and in that vicinity and I create in-depth stories about seemingly inanimate objects that appear so much human and more real than those entrusted and stay for the time being around me. This is more than a game, and I felt the atmosphere makes me believe that somewhere off in another universe that Giuilia is living and that one day time travel could be possible to meet her and help to make sure she is safe.

The white lady's story has no affect on the ending, true, but I think thematically she was closer to the reflection of what Giulia didn't want to become (and in this playthrough, did). I think they could have done A Lot More with it, and that bit where Death talks to us. Kind of feel like either the project was running out of money, or there was heavy outside influence that cut down those bits.

Just take the boat at the lake and go into the bunker from the other side to do the side quest with the weapons crate. However I don't think that this will affect the ending.

I cannot get to the boat, the road is blocked in the beginning of the forest, I saw where is the entrance to the bunker. I think I have to do something that I forgot or something happened

@@TheBaldMan You probably are in the Memories chapter where it doesn't let you enter the forest anymore and it turns you around when you try to go into the forest. In order to complete to side quest with the weapons' crate you will have to do it while you are still in The Burial chapter. As soon as The Burial chapter ends and The White Lady chapter starts, you can still get on the boat but it won't let you go to the bunker lake entrance. And here's a bug too, while having finished the side quest and you have unlocked the bunker forest entrance, during The Graveyard chapter, if you run through the bunker and get to the lake you can get into the lake on foot and run underwater. If you climb on the hills around and reach the limits of the map you will fall out of the map as well.

I don't get it. I played this game on Playstation 5 and the last scene (Giulia/Martha speaking to the camera) didn't appear. There was only text, no face. Anyway, the game was quite disturbing, I wasn't expecting this kind of story, I'm gonna play it again to understand everything better.

My objective list has “take a photo in the garden” checked off, but I’ve developed the sparrow photo like ten times and it won’t register. I can’t use the tripod until it works but I don’t understand why it’s not working D: it says I haven’t tried the camera yet even though that makes no sense since I took the garden photo. I tried copying your sparrow photo, taking it from the same distance and stuff but it just won’t do anything when I develop it. I love your vid, very helpful even though I’m stuck lol

Even if you chaged the settings of the camera? it has to be with good exposure good light good position and so on, it will tell you when its best to take the photo, and another thing is when you develop it, you have to ajust to be in the perfect location

You probably have the censor on in the settings. It's on by default I found out. You can pause the game and change it in the settings anytime you want. Just also make sure you hit square to apply the settings you want.

I mean yes, till the end because it askes you if you want uncensored or not and I chose to be because I didn`t know if KZbin will allow it. But till that point is uncensored
