Martha's confession is so heart-breaking and raw! And Karen sitting opposite her, listening patiently but can't really help her because she doesn't know exactly what to say etc. I still can't believe that this confession was made possible during the start of the 1960's, it's unbelievable to say the least. It's Audrey Hepburn's & Shirley MacLane's rawest performances!

This scene and towards the end of the movie felt very dark. It almost reminded me of Death of a Salesman when Biff was trying to have a serious conversation with his father Willie. But ended up making matters worse. Both he and Martha had felt the pressure of dealing with different problems that lead to them committing suicide.

Ugh, I want to play Martha so bad. I've hardly ever been in dramatic roles and I'd love to portray her as a member of the LGBTQ community myself.

Would have been more realistic if Audrey would have thrown up over the confession.

As someone who studies filmography and theatre, I dare to deny this. It wouldn't have been realistic at all, it would've rather been too dramatic. And such a confession, which is also pretty censored as well, can't make a person feel sick either.... May you have a nice day
