I tried to tell people 'bout "Bobby Deerfield," the one where he was played against by Marthe Keller. A love story like no other. They had chemistry on and off the screen. I mean it was real real, but in the kind of way that most Americans can't touch with their mechanical parts grinding away at self absorbed modernism. When Bobby's cracked shell loses it's veneer it is brought back to the light by this lionhearted damsel whose gentle pawing coaxes that suffocating premature nascent to do something which he only thought he knew to do. To finally learn to flyy -again. And he achieves this with what could only be prescribed as a healthy narcissism for life from her. Something even an American (Bronxite) could swallow.
