@@Comrade_Veteran11 no, some of them are more practical, some of them not. I will say among all martial arts, muay thai is most practical as it uses all parts of body to combat including knee. Others like taekwondo is more towards kicking when it comes to sparring, they are more like getting the marks with many restrictions, so you rarely see bone breaken or blood bleeding in taekwondo sparring. But in muay thai, you can see it every matches, they are more 'raw' i would say. But, both of them are good just in different ways.

Bro said Karate and now he doesn’t want to say which style and also Hapkido is far more powerful in combat, than Taekwondo. Taekwondo is in the same category as Karate, by it, I mean that they are “hard” marital arts, not in difficulty, but in techniques. To understand it better and to not make You feel offended by any means, I will use metaphors. Karate is more like a huge and powerful rock, it’s full of power, when it starts rolling down you can’t stop it. Hapkido is like water, it isn’t about great power, it’s about flowing, just like a water. In my opinion to represent what Hapkido is, you need to use all of it rules by techniques and actually this is the way to test how skilled practitioner is. It would the best, if you fought with advanced practitioner. Ah, also Hapkido is like water, because water, when culminated it can become pool of water. Drop by drop, it will became more mighty. It have mentality that you shouldn’t be too hard, but soft for the most of time. As water you can dodge and look for weakness of enemy. To use rock, I would recommend a complete or huge control of situation. And the best way of getting control in Hapkido is to firstly use power of enemies to counter them.

It was founded by Paulo Albuquerque in 1989, bringing the experience he had in various martial arts, in addition to the study of security and strategy techniques. Here there is a grading system by bands and the main point of its techniques is the application of punches, kicks, projections, immobilizations, in addition to the use of weapons such as knives and sticks. *2. Luta Marajoara* Originally from northern Brazil, more precisely from Marajó Island, Luta Marajoara is a martial art very similar to wrestling, as it prioritizes techniques of projection and imbalance. There is no consensus as to its origins, but it is said that it was born from the fighting practices of the Aruá indigenous peoples, together with the influence of Africans. *3. Very similar to the Luta Marajoara, it is characterized by the techniques of projection and imbalance, where the objective is to make the opponent fall backwards into the ground. That's no ranking...for the best martial arts bro. It's just...if you strong and smart to fight...you can win. Meanwhile if you learnt more than 5 different martial arts, it doesn't mean...you can win against the person who just finish 1 martial art. It's up to individual potential. Not martial arts. Because, in this world, some of martial arts...have a principe, and their principe is..."Don't show off". Just learnt to protect our self if we in danger only, not using to be a fighter in MMA, or UFC. In my country, we have Silat. Silat are the one of many martial arts...have a principe, to not show off and hit ourself face just for perfomance, like boxing or Muay Thai, or MMA competition. It will not allow it in Silat principe. You can make a competition..but more too focus on 1 technique, without need to hit opponent face for perfomance. That's all.

NINJUTSU I would say, from my experience in Ninjutsu, that the art is an “eye opener”. That is to say, although you train in sequences (very bad for fighting) and so rarely get punched, except in very good Ninjutsu schools, Ninjutsu puts the finger where it should be put when it comes to street fighting that is to say: • A weapon doesn’t make you invincible • You are limitless: you can bite, grab balls - not just hit it-, finger lock, eye gouge, hair pull, shirt tug/trap • Surprise is the element of any fights so you better adapt (the well known “10.000 fights, no surprise” motto • When you train using a weapon, make sure to understand that weapons are forms too; a katana can be replaced with a chair, a staff can be replaced with a bench according to the situation That’s how Ninjutsu is useful for me in real fights. I certainly learnt Kata from Ninjutsu that I was happy to pull out in training, stripped from their sequence move and adapted for combat situation. But that’s it: don’t expect to go learn Ninjutsu and become a killer because this will not happen. I am particularly dubious of arts, Ninjutsu included, that trains you to be the perfect killer when you are never confronted to real fight. What I can say however is that providing that you do a good combat sport, that you went in a fight before and that you can see the gem among the superfluous, then Ninjutsu can be one of the best martial arts to take to develop your street fighting abilities. Others than roaming bars of course.

Since the 1920’s Muay Thai has been transformed into a ringsport, mainly because too many people died during matches (!). It’s so much more than just a ring sport. That said, it is true that Muay Thai nowadays focuses mainly on one-to-one, unarmed combat. But in that perspective, it’s the best fighting system there is, part of it being due to it’s toughness. If you want to learn how to defend yourself in a couple of months, Krav is a very smart system, with which you can quickly learn basic skills to fight (after all it was designed for that). That’s the power of Krav imho: it teaches you basic skills and you’ll be a somewhat alround fighter fast. But you’ll be a fighter with lower skills. And that’s the main drawback of Krav: it lacks a bit of depth because a lot of technique is simplified (again, in my opinion). I’d like to point out that I’ve been training martial arts for over 35 years. I’ve started with judo, karate and over the last 20 years I’m into Muay Thai. I did do Krav Maga as well. So, to answer your question: if you want to learn some skills in a short amount of time: do Krav Maga. If you want to become a skilled, tough as nails fighter: start Muay Thai. If you want to be really, really dangerous: do both! Have you ever been kicked by a Muay Thai boxer? Alternatively, have you ever had to defend yourself against a knife attack vs a proficient Krav Maga trained soldier? I’ve experienced both, and I can tell you… …Muay Thai boxers are some of the best martial artists I’ve ever encountered. Being kicked or punched or elbowed by one is like being kicked by a deer… yes, that’s happened to me also, but by accident. Similarly, an experienced Krav Maga practitioner is equally as brutal. Here’s the short of it - if it’s self defense you are looking for, both are effective, however, KM is a highly effective system and practice for street scuffles and street defense against an armed villain, or multiple villains. Effective KM courses are designed to enable you to end a fight swiftly, and cripple the aggressors ability to attack with a weapon. I had a very intense sparring session with an Israeli prison service guard trained in KM and he was a beast - almost broke my arm after pulling my shoulder slightly out of socket. It took me several months of resistance band rehab to recover since I needed to continue to train. Vous avez envoyé uay Thai is highly effective as well as you are trained to take a beating and give a beating. To me MT is a strike-driven discipline vs KM, which is a self-defense driven discipline. Keep in mind KM has traces of MT within it. That being said, I have never felt more beat up than after sparring with a MT boxer. I was bruised for days and felt the aching all over my body for weeks, even a couple of months. I will offer this up to you - in attack scenarios a MT fighter stands their ground and is trained to absorb strikes and can effectively strike back with brutal proficiency, but MT fighters are not often trained to defend against bats, knifes, sticks, etc., and a determined attacker is a dangerous attacker because they are usually not disciplined. Krav Maga fighters are trained to disarm, counter with brutal efficiency also, with a purpose to end the confrontation as a state-of-mind. For me, smart self-defense is quickly neutralizing an opponent and the situation. I believe this can be effectively be done with either discipline, but I lean toward Krav Maga for self-defense aspects, attacks with weapons, and rear attach encounters. I respect all martial disciplines and I believe the practitioner’s decision-making is the equalizer in a fight. The best self-defense discipline is the one you practice and become proficient at. All that said, don’t get kicked by a Muay Thai boxer! ????

Muay Chaiya is only one of the many styles included in the umbrella term that is "Muay Boran" ! Other styles of "Muay Boran" include Muay Khorat, Muay Lopburi, and Muay Ta Sao... just to name a few. "Muay Boran" itself is actually the traditional & original form of Muay Thai. The style of Muay Thai seen nowadays is more of a 'combat sport' than a 'martial art'. Modern Muay Thai has a limited number of techniques whereas a style of "Muay Boran" (or "Muay Thai Boran") contains a lot more than what is seen in the "Thai Boxing" ring. There are several differences between a "combat sport" and "martial art". Although, all CAN be categorized as a "martial art"... not all of them are ! In fact, some of the fighting arts mentioned in this video are a type of combat sport rather than martial art. To simplify... A. Martial Art = "no-holds-barred" B. Combat Sport = limited by the 3 'Rs' which make it not the best choice for street defense. The 3 'Rs' include: 1) Rules 2) Ring 3) Referees

India🇮🇳 - 🔥 *Kalaripayattu* 🔥
@hrishabhjaytay1662 жыл бұрын
Excellent effort in compiling these names. However, I wish to share some corrections in the case of India. Most of the Indian states have their own Martial Arts. In Tamizh Naad it is Silambu, in Punjab it is Gatka, for the Marathas it is Mardani Khel so on and so forth. Kalaripayattu is the Kerala martial arts form which has 18 mora or adavu; which may be translated to English as styles. In serial some are Othiram, Khadakam, Chadulam, Mandalam so on and so forth. That which you have shown as Musti-Yudha is actually Vaal Payattu (Archery). Mushthi Yudha is Boxing. May Payattu is Karate. As we know the meaning of Karate is empty hand, so is the meaning of May Payattu. If one delves deeper and deeper into the History of Martial Arts world over; believe it or not; one would come to the conclusion that Lord Parashurama was the first instructor of the world. Lord Siva was his Guru. He was the one who gave Kalari to Kerala. Kalari has vast meanings. It includes not only martial arts, but also the studies of Science, Mathematics, Languages, Shastras like Marma shastra and last but not the least Kalaripayattu, that is martial arts. We all might know that a Tamizh Buddhist Monk Bodhidharman, who was an expert in Silambu went to Kera Pradesha (today's Kerala), mastered all these and took them to China. The reason for him to leave Tamizh Naad was that he was not permitted to impart education to the lower caste. The King; who was his own elder brother had summoned him. He refused to appear and left to spread the knowledge to the world. That is the richness some Indians projected. The world need to delve deeper to know these facts. We also might know there are 18 styles in Chinese martial arts too. Precisely most forms of the martial arts in the world today have been derived from 'Kalaripayattu'. For example Angampora of Sri Lanka is Angapporu in Malayalam. Teravada of China is derived from Tharavadu of Malayalam, which means the original root of the family. The sloka that gives the 18 adavu or styles of Kalaripayattu is given below for the benefit of people who are interested. However, it is in Sanskrit. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Martial Arts and Weapons are given by The Almighty God to maintain peace and harmony in the world. It is not to impose one's capabilities upon others, but it is to share knowledge, become wiser and stronger. It has to be used only on ASURAS; the people who challenge peace and harmony in the world. 🙏Aum Shanti🙏

Notice the differing emphasis between grapples, or certain forms of striking, between different styles. This is often owed to the history and demographics of a style's practitioners. Ethnically taller people (relative to ethnic groups neighboring them) tend to develop styles that make greater use of their longer limbs. Tae Kwon Do is an example of this; Koreans tended to be taller than many other Southeast Asian peoples, so they had an advantage in terms of striking range with their kicks relative to (as an example) a Japanese combatant.
@joshuapacia63162 жыл бұрын
Yes in terms of their geographical location which is located in the Tropic of Cancer which experienced 4 seasons, which has a factor in the development of their bodies and their style of fighting. Basically, Southeast Asian like us Filipinos, Thais, Vietnamese, Indonesians, and others, their fighting style tend to be based on closed range fighting due to their body type.

SYSTEMA The word "Systema" refers to a range of Russian martial arts in much the way that "wushu" or "kung fu" refers to a range of Chinese martial arts. The martial art most North Americans know of as "Systema" is Systema Ryabko, as popularized by his student Vladimir Vasiliev. I had known of Vasiliev through magazine articles and ads for many years. When I visited Toronto around 2000, he was one of the local martial artists I made a point to spend some time with. An acquaintance of mine from the area who was well embedded in the GTA martial arts community oriented me to a number of local instructors, most of them MMA, muay Thai, BJJ. I asked about Vasiliev, and he said "It's weird stuff, but Vlad can do it." I had limited time in the city, but was curious. I visited his school for one class. A couple years later, there was a Russian comp sci grad student at my university who had a background in Systema, who wanted to share his art and just have people to train with in his new city. We trained together a bit. Now, many of you reading this have seen videos of Systema training and demos that have made you chuckle and maybe write them off as collective delusion. At the time I visited Vasiliev, I did not have as much martial arts experience as I do now, but I had a pretty decent foundation of about seven or eight years, which was spread between a couple traditional arts (Aikido and classical kung fu) and some modernist (JKD Concepts and Blauer Tactical). Web video was not as developed at the time as it is now. KZbin wouldn't even exist for another five years. There were sometimes downloadable .wmv's, but there weren't that many of them. So I hadn't seen Systema in action and I had no idea what to expect. While I didn't experience everything in Systema in that hour and a half or so, I did get some flavour of it. You might have heard Systema described as fluid, formless, adaptable, "with no fixed movements", things like that. The same sorts of phrases are sometimes used to describe Krav Maga or JKD, so you wonder what people actually mean by that. They apply to Systema in a completely different way. Put it this way: If some other martial arts are like fabricated toys--model planes, little red wagons and such, you could say that JKD or Krav Maga are like Lego. They're modular and you can assemble it into different things. Systema seemed to me more like modeling clay. It was more fluid and formless than Lego. Nothing seemed familiar. It didn't have solid, recognizable pieces the way JKD or Krav do: "Oh, that was a boxing punch, that was a Japanese jujitsu wrist-lock." It seemed like the only time a movement was repeated the same way was when I asked, "Wait, what did you do there? Could you show me again?" It had more in common with West-coast-hippie-"free movement" dance than anything else I've experienced before or since in the martial arts realm .... but with intent. Another Quora respondent likened it to Ido Portal's "Movement" stuff, and I echo that. I’m not saying it is like that. I’m saying that to my untrained eye, it gives a similar impression. One of Sun-Tzu's great lines was "The height of strategy is to attack your opponent's strategy". When working with Vasiliev, I felt frustrated and baffled. He was always shifting in a way that would not only make me miss, but make me not know what I should do next. When you watch videos of Ryabko or Vasiliev demonstrating their art, you may chuckle at how slowly their “opponent” is moving and think that they’re being “cooperative”. They’re not cooperating. They’re baffled. They’re moving slowly because the things that Vasiliev and Ryabko are doing are pretty uncomfortable for them and they don’t want V or R to do them hard and fast. Training with the grad student, I never had that feeling. He was, relatively, a Systema rookie. With Vasiliev, I felt that if we fought for real, he'd hurt me badly, effortlessly. With the other fellow, I felt that if we fought for real, I'd out-speed him and win. Which is fair enough. I'd been doing martial arts of various sorts for a decade by then, and he had a couple years of Systema. Now in the videos, you might have seen some things that purport to be borderline paranormal. I experienced one such technique with Vasiliev. You might have heard it referred to as "taking away the hit". He struck me in the solar plexus and winded me. It really hurt. I was doubled over. Then he said "breathe", waved his hand in front of me, and it immediately stopped hurting. The effect was dramatic. My rational mind says that his hand movement cued me to adjust my posture and breathing so that I stopped doing something that perpetuated the pain--say, clenching my anterior core muscles or something. But I've never seen anyone outside of Systema able to do that. My brief time at Vasiliev's school had a few quirky surprises like that, but that one stands out in my memory. They lead me to believe that yes, the people who practice Systema Kadochnikova have some knowledge of applied physiology and kinesiology that many other martial artists don't. Another moment from my brief time with Vasiliev sticks in my memory. Near the end of the class, my mind was reeling from the overflow of brand new, unfamiliar stuff for which I had no point of reference. I asked him, "Where does Systema come from, originally, what's it based in?" Vasiliev asked, "What kind of people are you?" "Chinese." He smiled, "Systema came from China." I looked at him in even greater bafflement, and he walked away. I repeated the conversation to a student. He explained, "I think what he means is that Russia is a very big country, and borders a lot of other countries, and martial knowledge passed in and out, so it's influenced by many different countries. If you'd said you were from India, he would have said that Systema is Indian."
