No. Bashir’s lies are why she gave up her police protection, why she ended up in a car with a drunk driver in Paris. Rosa Monkton was one of Diana’s closest friends. She was on holiday with Diana before she went on holiday with Dodi and Rosa has said Diana was already regretting the interview without knowing she’d been manipulated into doing it. Finally both William and Rosa have stated how Bashir’s lies made Diana paranoid and affected her mental health….you can look up interviews where they’ve said this.

@susanwaugh97116 ай бұрын
@@sookibeulah9331 Of course she regretted it, it led to the final breakdown of her marriage and the Queen initiating a divorce. As for being paranoid…well she told the world what was really going on in her marriage and about his affair etc etc. What did she expect was going to happen? That the palace would sit back and do nothing? Diana knew what she was doing. As with her biography Diana: A True Story; she initiates these interviews, and then regrets it all afterwards, blaming others when shit hits the fan. William is just peeved because he remembers the interview well, and the fact it lead to the divorce between his parents, and that’s why he’s out for revenge. Reporters/journalists will do anything for an interview/photo with a famous icon at any cost. Diana was a grown woman and often made the wrong choices. She CHOSE to participate and tell her story, just like she CHOSE to reveal all to her vocal coach and her biographer. She was very naive, and despite the Andrew Morton tapes backfiring, she continued to tell anyone who would listen to her very intimate details of her marriage, and throw herself into a deep hole again and again.

Bashir manufactured evidence and he should've gone to prison. But the core issue isn't that off base either; she was regarded as someone who would trouble the British establishment and the security services where interested in her. For her part, Diana didn't need much prompting to let it all hang out.

You make a good point here but remember it was Diana who was taunting the queen. And others. She made hundreds of phone calls to Oliver Hoares home and Scotland Yard had to get involved!! Diana really was an instigator and a troublemaker. Diana supposedly had a history of mental illness. She probably would have wanted the queen to go off with a nervous breakdown but she didn't! Good for QE. Diana towards the end of her life was losing her popularity because of her erratic ways and destroying so many marriages. She shoved her stepmother down a flight of stairs!! She tipped off the photographers and reporters when Fergie was having her toes sucked! Diana was bitterly jealous of Tiggy Legg Bourke and told Tiggy at a party "I'm sorry to hear that you lost Charles baby" . Tiggy ran from the party and got good lawyers against Diana! Good for Tiggy! There was no baby!! ( Other than Diana. ) Diana had no conscience!! Horrible woman. Awful person. Not everything can be blamed on Camilla and Charles infidelity or Diana's youth.

@@MarciaLeeStelling If Diana was seen as a candidate for the "funny farm" maybe it's because of her erratic behavior and devious temper! Diana was emotionally unstable and treacherous. Even Diana admitted in an interview that she loved getting revenge and plotting on others. Awful woman. As for killing Diana - well I suppose the truth will come out but for now we are told that the driver was drunk and Diana didn't have her seat belt on and the driver was speeding and the paparazzi were in the way and Dodi was supposedly shouting for the driver to go faster and the car was a re- built vehicle and not up to standards. Sad.

It's one thing to accept another woman as your husband's confidante (Philip). But it's quite another when you read in the newspaper that your husband wants to be that woman's tampon (Charles). Diana's Spencer bloodline was an aristocratic family that was even more prestigious than the royal family. The current British royal family is descended from the Duke of Hanover in Germany. Diana is descended from not one, but two illegitimate children of King Charles II of England: Henry Fitzroy and Charles Lennox, via two of her great-grandmothers, Adelaide Seymour and Rosalind Bingham. This means that Diana's royal family tree stretches back through the ages of both English and Scottish history. I bet it was this connection that also had an impressive take in the arranged marriage.

yes, there is also a scene in the series in the "Guy Fawkes" episode when the BBC team is recording the interview. Beforehand, Diana and Bashir meet secretly in a tunnel and she asks him openly about the "contradictions" in his statements because her brother Lord Spencer also took notes of the conversations. Bashir goes one step further and lets Diana know that even her brother is being manipulated in some way. The man has obviously really used every dirty trick possible to get a candid interview and to get one over on the British monarchy.

❤❤🎉🎉 "She wants to tear down the temple" Bashir says. The queen and the royal family thought so too. Bashir was cut throat and sneaky. But didn't anyone see what Diana was all "about"? I'm guessing it was not easy to TRUST her. When a celebrity becomes too big usually the media or the government or an irritated politician becomes somewhat "concerned" (and rightfully so depending on the situation.) Diana should have stuck to cutting ribbons and balcony appearances. It makes me wonder if Diana became too big for the position of Princess of Wales. And for all her influence what did Diana ever do for the Welsh people? Never put yourself where you don't belong. The palace should have kept Diana and Fergie and Megan on a short leash. Most princesses are not this controversial unless they are up to something - I can see why both Diana and the palace were paranoid.
