Seriously fast car and distinctly nimble in appearance and drive compared to the larger turbo-cars of the day. Finished second in 1984 Detroit race with Brundle, but was disqualified for illegal ballast. May have been an effort by the authorities to get rid of the non-turbos. I remember watching Brundle and Bellof throw their cars around, particularly Bellof who was crazily drifting the thing!

He is braking very early. No point in wading up a million dollar car when he is that far ahead. He also runs a vintage Formula Ford and is always right up front. I believe Dario Franchitti was 4th in this race.

I saw Brundle many times, starting with F3 through to F1 and Le Mans, and I well remember seeing him in this car, and Belloff, great days, and great cars! Sadly today's F1 and it's cars are, excuse my French, a pile of 💩

OK, a modest proposal.... Now that we already have EFI, IRS, and five-speed sequential gear boxes in NASCAR, and given that their engines have absolutely no production car relevance anymore anyway, and that if anything, they are too reliable... Replace all V8 NASCAR engines with a modern reproduction of the DFV. Still a V8, only 3 liters (you know, for economy...), and can you imagine the sound of 40 of them at the start of a race?! Granted, the super-speedways may pose a bit of a reliability problem, but all those engineers need something to work on anyway...
