Hi Lars, what a fascinating video. Some 15 years ago I sent my 1919 Martin 0-45 out to TJ Thompson for what was to be over a years worth of restoration. I had purchased it from The Mandolin Bros in 1973 and because of issues I couldn't have known about and the dry heat of New York City the poor thing was on death's door. I had no idea how much work, time, skill, inspiration, frustration and love went into TJ's work. Because of your video, I understand so much more and will appreciate my fortune every time I play.

funoverdone /forgive my opinion that I disagree that it was well shot. Yes it has a nice look but the quick edits do not promote a great learning video. There is not enough time while the picture is jumping around to see What the luthier is doing. The overall look of the film is exceptional as a short subject presented at a film festival but as a learning tool I feel the camera work detracted from its effectiveness. Just saying and addressing your comment thank you

@@nakedhombre Hello! you should read the whole description. but I can repeat It here !CAUTION!: This video is not ment as a "how-to" instruction. Many elements and steps of the restoration has been left out and this video does not give a complete representation of what goes in to this kind of work. if you need similar work done I would strongly advice you to take it to an experienced professional and certainly not use this video as a "how-to" guide

Lars Dalin / Thank you. I did miss the admonition. I watched the entire video and enjoyed it immensely and I did realize that to have filmed this with the eye of a step-by-step procedure would have taken an in ordinate amount of time that could not have been accomplished with one video. I have a background in commercial film making industry and was acquainted with the editing techniques of Music videos and expensive car commercials in which the action is fast and furious and is only matched by the quick cuts. Thank you for your response I still feel that there could’ve been some slightly longer panning shots of what you were doing. I have a 1974 Martin D 35 that I purchased new in Chicago. It came with a lifetime warranty. 27 years later when I was convalescing from a leg injury, I sent my guitar to a luthier Who was an authorized Martin repair agent. Much of the work was covered under warranty plus I paid for a few elective repairs. (Fret wire replacement and som body damage) but other original work was guaranteed by the manufacturer such as neck adjustment, ribbing adhesion, internal loose bracing, and a curled up pick guard, (notorious for that model-year). I am curious if the D 28 model, 1974 also had a lifetime guarantee? Some of that work may have been covered by Martin under their original sales agreement.Thank you again for the video your work, as others have noted is nothing short of amazing!
