Martin D28 Review vs. Zager EZ-Play Acoustic Electric GUITAR SHOOTOUT | Zager EZ-Play Guitars

In this guitar shootout video, I put two iconic acoustic-electric guitars to the test: the Martin D28 and the Zager EZ-Play ZAD 900 CE. After hearing all the hype surrounding Zager guitars, I had to see for myself if they lived up to the claims. Spoiler alert: they absolutely do! The Zager EZ-Play ZAD 900 CE completely surprised me with its incredible playability. The string spacing and low action make it feel comfortable and fast in your hands, while the slim neck design ensures smooth playing for hours.
Crafted by the family-owned Zager Guitars in Lincoln, Nebraska, this guitar features Sitka spruce and rosewood back and sides, with gorgeous curly maple binding and abalone inlays. For just $2200, this guitar feels like a high-end instrument, comparable to guitars costing much more. Plus, it comes with Fishman Aura electronics, allowing you to download sounds to enhance your tone-an incredible feature for the price.
I compare it directly with my Martin D28, which is a 10-year-old guitar that has been professionally set up. The difference in playability is remarkable, with the Zager EZ-Play feeling much easier to play and more comfortable overall. Sound-wise, they’re pretty close, though the D28 has the advantage of age. If the Zager gains some years under its belt, I’m sure it’ll be right up there with the best of them.
