Martin de Candre Shaving Soap, Rose | The Daily Shave

I have four different Martin de Candre, Fougère, Vétyver, Agrume and Rose. Rose os by far my favorite sent. It isn't feminine at all. It's just wonderful. Smells very refreshing and classy. My second favorite it Vétyver. I truly love all of them but if I had only one, it would be the Rose.

Thanks for the review, Ross. Thayers Rose Petal Face Toner is my idea of a natural rose scent. Do you happen to know this scent? If so, how does it compare to MdC's Rose?

Warren I I was actually hoping to pick up that Thayers before this review and just was unable to so I am not sure. I’d have to think it would compliment it quite well though.

i have a question, i know you have used the wholly kaw siero soaps, (my personal favorite) how does MDC compare? i understand it is a veg vs. tallow. and saponificio varesino 4.3 didn't quite live up to my expectations. but im still trying to find a non tallow soap that can compare to the best tallow soaps available. please if you have any insight in comparison i would love to know what you think and how it compares. thank you

Friend I will answer you, sincerely Martin de Candre is overrated, it is such a simple soap that it does not compare with tallow soaps like wholly kaw and all the others known, it is not worth it, just look at its poor list of ingredients and compare them with real shaving soaps and you will see that Martin de Candre is just a simple soap, the only thing that stands out in its duration, I bought it but I regret doing it, if you want to try the best in soaps you should use soaps with tallow , especially the most recognized in the United States, beyond that I do not think you will find anything better.

how is the performance on this one compared to wholly kaw siero? i just used saponificio varesino opuntia 4.3 and it was sort of let down in comparison to even the top 10 artisans out today. ive been on a mission to explore the higher end of the spectrum. i found saponificio varesino to dry my skin out in comparison to something like siero. i know you have experience with both so im really curious to know how you would compare these two.

Chris Spertos Unfortunately, I’ve not had the pleasure of trying SV. Post-shave is quite nice from MdC though. Can’t go wrong with it.

I have mdc and a couple of sv's as well,both soaps performing well,but to my humble opinion mdc has better shaving results including post shave!!! Hopping that I help (p.s using on daily shave mdc for a year now seems that gives better shaves and is more friendly to my skin as well).

Actually is not a limited edition anymore. They passed it to regular production. I ordered mine from giftsandcare. They usually maintain a full inventory of all mdc soaps. Great video and shave!

MDC is an exceptionally good soap. It is expensive and one jar should last about a year. Their scents are spectacular. Before buying I would find out what all scents they have and probably just order my favorite scent.

thanks for the video. i just noticed something, having watched a number of your daily shave videos. you spend very little time lathering the left side of your face. in fact, it's about 80/20 right side to left. not a criticism, but an observation.
