Charli E apparently they don't really get along too well, the chemistry between their characters doesn't filter into real life so I'd say the PR people keep them apart for appearances

@@bexbeckyxx for everyone finding that comment now and wondering If it’s actually true: No it isn’t! It was exposed actually by them to be just absolute trash. Both confirmed their words were just twisted by press and that the press wanted to create unnecessary drama. There are a lot of behind the scenes and interviews were they get along extremely well, one time Martin even chatted with Benedict‘s mother on the phone at a press conference, I don’t think you would do that when you don’t actually like someone. There are also a lot of moment where both get asked about the other and they only speak good about the other. There is no bad blood between them. The reason for them not being seen too often in interviews together is simply because they’re both always extremely busy working on their own projects with Martin being in completely different parts of the world than Benedict, their schedules simply don’t line up. That’s it.

The funniest thing to me is that as Sherlock fans we're totally into the otter and the hedgehog story, but in all the videos I've seen where they get interviewed about it you can see that Martin actually really, clearly hates this comparison, like he looks totally done with the story and ready to move on haha
