I was always at the Penthouse every sunday night. The show starts at 11pm but we are already lined up at the gate as early as 4pm or 5pm. We had a special pass to get in before and we had the opportunity to watch their rehersal before the show begins Love their show . I am now 74 yrs young and still follow them .❤❤❤

Yes Pops was not the best singer (even dancer) even back then, but her performances and concert productions (from outfits, to the song numbers, and surprises here and there), made watching her always worth it. She was such a joy to watch on stage, very QUEENLY, she was spontaneous, also very articulate and can always connect with her audience. Her hosting skills were put to good use when she did her spiels. That's Pops' advantage since we may have had a lot of better singers then and now but most just depended on a script or the templated spiels. Yung mga "this is for all of you" nalang ang nasasambit o kaya binabakya nalang ang approach pag nauubusan ng sasabihin. :) That's why ang saya lagi pag siya ang co-host ni Martin pag Penthouse Live. It started kasi with Martin as resident host tapos iba-iba ang female co-host every week. Pero nag-click talaga silang dalawa at ang lakas ng chemistry, so eventually she became the permanent co-host na. Then they always sang a duet at the end of the show hanggang na-elevate na to concert levels and mind you, lagi nila napupuno ang venue, whether magkasama or kanya-kanyang concert sila, laging sold out, pati mga repeat. Hence, the titles CONCERT KING and QUEEN respectively. :)
