Lyrics to Glory bound Freedom came my way that night Just like a jet plane In and out of sight I was hauling ass at a million miles an hour Wondering how hard I'd hit When they came into the station They said I was bad beyond repair But I got no qualms with my situation Say here I am So say cheri cheri won't you dare to Say cheri cheri won't you dare to Leave a message and your number please Tie them up all my old fantasies Put them in a big red bow and send them care of me I'm taking a chance on the wind I'm packing all my bags Taking a mistake I gotta make Then I'm glory bound So I packed it up and I went to the winds And I lived out of a VW bus for a year or two Ain't nothing but a pipe dream and my guitar Livin off of apple fields and old cigars Diggin this microphone checking it out every night all alone The car battery is dead again so I got my head dead set against it So say cheri cheRI won't you dare to Say cheri cheri won't you dare to Leave a message and your number please Take the time to want to satisfy me Take all those fantasies and send them care of me I'm taking a chance on the wind I'm packing all my bags Taking a mistake I gotta make Then I'm glory bound

In an age when most music bought, sold and broadcast is as produced/processed as high fructose corn syrup, and major record labels have Monsanto-like control over the industry, Martin Sexton defines "organic". Help decrease type II musical diabetes and listen to more Sexton. raw. pure. talent. His music is beneficial for life long consumption without the side-effects of engineered loops and auto-tuning. I don't care how many people know about him or don't; how popular he is or isn't. He's good.

Just one of the damnedest live performances on KZbin. Long live Sexton.

This came up over drinks tonight: what is the best concert you've ever been to? I said Leonard Cohen, because I will never get that chance again, but... Martin Sexton, in terms of pure jaw-dropping talent. I went alone, because I could not convince any of my friends, who'd never heard of him, to go. Aladdin Theater, Portland, Oregon, circa 2003 or 4.
@Tatianalh7612 жыл бұрын
I was lucky enough to go to one of his concerts and it was AMAZING. He's the best musician out there and love that he's not "commercial" at all.... he's a poet and you can tell he loves what he does...

This song is like a well of inspiration for me. I come back every time I think about hangin it up musically.
If blood was music, it would course through Martin's entire being. Never have I encountered so much talent as watching and listening to him live. Pure musical magic!

The best part of this video is the fact that the audience actually shuts up and doesn't ruin the performance like every other Martin video on youtube. Please plug into a soundboard Marty and give us some good live stuff to watch!

Chris Trapper is amazing in this song, he makes it so much better if that could ever happen! i Can't hear this song without the harmonies he adds here. Wish they were a little louder though. the last 20 seconds of this song is what i love about music!

"Glory Bound" .. such a classic Martin Sexton fave of mine! And several of you who have posted are correct in that the 'guy' standing beside Martin is, in fact, Chris Trapper, an amazing singer/songwriter, who coincidentally is opening for Martin tonight (10/17) at The Strand Theatre in Rockland, ME...if you get an opportunity to check out Chris with or without Martin..trust me..you will not be disappointed! ROCK ON..Martin and Chris...Peace and love from Syracuse..

There was an audio of Purple Rain by Marty posted on someone's Myspace fan page a couple years ago, lifted off a slightly fuzzy radio broadcast, the BEST rendition ever. can't find it anymore.
Good stuff always comes back around... I felt my blood levels getting low, and found this vid. Still has the same power it did that night.
