I saw the play on stage at Birmingham Hippodrome. It was amazing. At the very end, as Elvis died, the lights went out and the auditorum was in complete darkness. A haunting voice announced "Ladies and Gentlemen Elvis Presley has left the building". The goosebumps are back..................

I'm stunned! I love him as George Gently, but he truly has a fantastic range. I couldn't imagine him as Elvis, but this is amazing.

I love Martin Shaw as George Gently. This totally surprized me. Wow! Not a bad impersonation. Made me feel wonderful. Thank you Mr. Shaw.

Saw this show all those years ago. It was fabulous entertainment and Simon Bowman as Elvis was absolutely brilliant - shall never forget his performance, and he had the girls screaming as I remember it. Thanks for posting - haven't seen this in years.

Quite powerful when seen as a piece of theater.

Greenheart, yes this is a dream come true definitely. And a great performance... if I had been in that audience I would have been just a puddle on a floor.....

its unfair to judge this along side Elvis the musical ...this was a serious play about the last days of elvis life. I saw it Simon Bowman was fantastic,.....initially i thought that Martin Shaw spoke like Mr. Magoo rather than elvis but the package was fantastic....great show. not a dance in the street show but a tear in the eye

I really like Martin Shaw, but, I love him as Doyle, he's a very well co-ordinated actor, with much going for him and a I sense he's a caring man in interviews.

quite something :)

I booked tickets to see Martin Shaw but he had broken his leg and it was in plater cast. It was distracting watching Elvis with a walking stick and sitting on a stool. 😐

Even with all the makeup, etc. applied neither of them look anything like Elvis at all. Simon Bowman is far too skinny and Martin Shaw's huge jug like ears have not even been pasted flat. This is the miscasting of the century.

The worst Elvis ever...he was better as Doyle in the professionals !!
