The great bit about Martin Shaw is you can believe in the characters he plays. Even when he did Ray Doyle in The Professionals, he played a very rounded character, unlike Bodie we didn't see much of his

"Don't ever go back to that look"?! What?! Nothing wrong with it. It was the 70s and he looks great. The Professionals was the best thing Martin ever did. Far better than George Gently. He should be very proud of the Pros and the fact it has stood the test of time. It will still be watched when GG is long forgotten.

He lives nearby we were out celebrating and he was at the next table with his partner and I think it was his birthday on a Sunday lunch. My wife was very happy as he is her celebrity crush so it was quite a fun meal as she was leaning over my shoulder to see him.

Still sexy silver fox..although at the time i preferred Lewis Collins who should have been Bond. He was perfect for the role as was in TA and passed SAS training too..

What we really want to know is about the professionals and Lewis Collins, as much as I like GGently. Why be embarrassed? The show was cool and will be long remembered. Pity he didn’t talk about Lewis.

I sit here & wrack my brains about who Martin Shaw looks like that he reminds me of & it dawned on me that its The Dog Whisperer-CESAR MILLIAN. He really looks like him but as an older version. They must be long lost biological Brothers, so twin-like that you can mistake one for the other. Wow! What a resemblance!~~~Sherlock
