He is always working, and his mind is both on the knife-sharp writing, but also on the timing, builds, connections to current events, roasting everyone but especially himself, and always including both the audience in that room, but also where the cameras are and which shot they’ll likely be using… etc. He is built for the mania and multitasking that goes into his chosen profession, and nobody does it better. Total pro.

I have loved Martin Short's work since SCTV in the early 80's In college (1985) a group of us went to Chicago for Halloween and I went as Ed Grimley. Most people thought I was supposed to be Pee Wee Herman , but a waiter at the Hard Rock Cafe got it right and made the whole thing worth it with his own impression.
