At the end of the day, nothing is bigger than the Club. The good thing is Arne, Richard and Edwards have identified they need a technical six. Liverpool will need to be quick and I am sure they will be ruthless. They will wait may be till tommorow - if they do not have a firm Yes from Zubimendi, they will move to Option 2 - (Varela , Stiller , Ederson and other technical 6) as they will want the No.06 wrapped up before Ipswich. Also, I understand the whole emotional side of things that Zubimendi will be in 2 minds to leave his boyhood club. But Liverpool also should not linger around some one who cannot decide the next move of his career. If he ain't want to move, LFC will respect that but they will move quickly. Like I said, a technical 6 has been identified, LFC should move to option 2 in case there is no breakthrough from Zubimendi as from tomorrow itself. Let's see how it unfolds.

And if Klopp was still there, he would likely play an important part once again. But Slot ball is completely different when it comes to the role of the CM's in the double pivot. It’s an interesting one. If Liverpool don’t pull this off you have to 1. Question Zubimendi’s ambition & 2. What made Liverpool think they could do what Arsenal, Bayern Munich & Barcelona couldn’t. He’s obviously a quality player but if he doesn’t want to come move on. Time is of the essence. Re comparing his situation to Gerrard & Totti. Of course as a local lad he will love his club & that is to be admired. The difference is Roma & Liverpool are much bigger clubs that Real Sociedad so although they could have won more trophies elsewhere both Totti & Gerard won trophies. Chances of zubimendi winning anything at Real Sociedad are much slimmer.
