When sticks were guns and played war in the woods. Built forts out of anything you could find. Mud holes and just being outside till dark. Those days are long gone.

I'm Dutch but I recognize everything! Playing outside until the lanterns went on, fun all day with some marbles, sticks and a ball. The antenna on the TV that you always had to turn. Knitwear, 1 cent candy that you chewed for hours like nougat. Take a bath in the tub one by one and get warm in front of the gas heater. Ice stars on the windows. And if you cried "just like that", you got one to cry. This resulted in a strong and hard-working generation. Wonderful times despite the poverty sometimes, you appreciated everything much more and respected your parents and your superiors. Nowadays you can get a big mug from your kids and they already feel abused if they don't get the latest game console. I miss the times, the togetherness and the simplicity. Children of today, but also many adults do not realize how good they have it now. I'm getting old I guess, haha. I sometimes have tears of laughing at you, I think you are wonderful people!
