@NMW803 жыл бұрын
Oh my god are you kidding? That would drive me nuts having squirrels stealing all my fruit. Thank God we don’t have them where I live. We do have other pets though which are annoying as hell. Nothing worse when you only have a couple of lemons which I do on my little tree thanks to Has knocking them off when they were small. I did have about 20 And now I’m left with two so I’m hoping I can at least try them and hopefully they will grow to maturity. I wouldn’t have thought squirrels would eat lemons actually LOL they are very sour so I didn’t think many mammals would eat them at all. I don’t think possums eat lemons but they are so annoying cos they like ruining the fruit and like knocking it off the trees. Also damn birds seem to knock fruit off lemons off tree too. Thank god though they don’t attract too many pests. Like apples, pears etc get actually eaten by the birds, possums etc which I’m not looking forward to losing fruit on my other fruit trees that haven’t started fruiting yet.

They are the best aren't they brotha. Yes you are right wait a fews years before placing it in the ground. Also when you do drap a piece of shade cloth over it during the hot summer months until it can adapt somewhat. Or better yet place it in the ground but under a large native tree on the property. Citrus trees are under storage trees so they like heat but shaded out. Shalom

I had a Meyer lemon tree given to me as a wedding gift. I had the tree for a decade and it barely stayed alive. The wife is gone and so is the pot I had the tree in. I put the tree in a plastic storage tub that I drilled lots of holes in. It runs out that tree was starving for oxygen around the roots. Putting it in a flat wide planter with lots of drainage was like Magic. This season gave me 50+ lemons. Before that I was lucky to get 5. Drainage is key. Thank you for much good information.

THANK YOU so much for understanding and saying out loud that trees have a spirit. People don't understand that. I'm not a hippie~dippy person either. It just baffles me, human arrogance. My husband is a retired 70 yr old Dr., so he's a man of science, but he also is a person that can see in total blackout darkness and clearly see people's soul energy (aura for lack of a better word) ..but the coolest thing is he can touch a tree and feel it's energy or vibration or whatever. He said the older they are the more time in between the "pulses" or beats. He said if you sit quietly & clear your mind that you can communicate with them. Idon't know what to call it all. I just know he doesn't tell many people that, and I know he's the most honest person I've ever known. So anyway, sorry for the rant. I always love your videos. 💜Cheers, fearless leader!

Just ran into your channel this morning. Looks like you know what you’re doing for sure I’m gonna dive into some of your stuff. I don’t know anything about notching branches to make growth so I’ll look for that episode. I found a Meyer lemon tree in a pot. It’s probably 5 feet tall left for the dead at the dumpster so grab my pruning shares, trimmed it down till there was nothing left but this branches painted white with the special paint to keep it from getting sunburned. This was , six months ago it’s grown a bunch of new branches looks really healthy. I’m going to repot it. It’s about 3 feet tall. I’m thinking of a 5 gallon size pot because I have a small patio second floor and when I move, I don’t have to carry a 40 gallon container. I’ll be using Gary’s top pot soil, but I was thinking about adding your special ingredients.

I hear you chief, I'm a big fan and huge grower of citrus. California is the top citrus-producing state in the United States, accounting for 79% of the country's total citrus production in 2022-2023. This includes over 80% of the nation's fresh citrus, as well as over 90% of the country's lemons. California is also the leading producer of fresh oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, and tangerines. So I can be guaranteed that I can just about find any cultivar of citrus to grow in Cali.

Hello! Loved your video. Beautiful Meyer Lemon. I have a dwarf MLemon that I had indoors for the winter last year. It was doing beautifully. Set lots of new leaves, bloomed indoors and then suddenly the leaves started curling, turning yellow and dropping off. It lost all it’s newer leaves. I didn’t completely die and I put it outdoors as soon as the weather permitted (No Virginia) and it has continued to live and the few fruits that remained are still growing and it is blooming again. What I don’t understand is why that terrible leaf and fruit drop? And also, it has been in the same pot for 2 years and I feel like I need to repot it so when is the best time to do that? It has set lots of baby lemons on it and is still blooming right now. I will probably need to move it indoors in 3 weeks. Thank you for your lovely video and spiritual words at the end. ❤️

How old is the tree?, What size pot is it in?, Is this the first time you have brought it in the house in Winter? What type and how strong is the indoor lighting if any? How often do you water it? What type of fertilizer do you feed it in Winter? Do you feed it monthly or bi-monthly in Winter? Lastly did you acclimate it to the indoor temps? I will await your reply and we can go from their.

Amen and amen. Great information on this finicky citrus. Now to see if we can get one to look half this good in the AZ desert!

@@elderyehudahwatchmanoftheg8425 no doubt we're both doing the same. Imagine all the folks living in apartments or with small urban "yards" that are taking harvests like you from what you have show can be done.

we got a couple BIG meyer lemons and it's getting cooler / less sunlight. they look kinda splotchy but hopefully theyll ripen up. Noted on your soil reccomendation. soil medium is compost, sifted forest soil, and a handful of biochar. have a blood orange and a calamondin im obsessed with. sooo fun ❤

What a wealth of knowledge, much appreciated. I just purchased my first citrus, a Meyer Lemon. It has many beautiful smelling blooms all over it. Don’t know if some should be removed or just leave them. It also reads on the tag you can leave in the container. I was thinking of a larger container. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Now I’m going to rewatch this amazing video to make sure I didn’t miss anything ❤️

Shalom, if it came in a 5g pot than you need to up-pot it. Most staff at nurseries rotate and are not educated specifically on citrus and etc.... leave the blooms alone. Take the fruit off once it starts to develop.

Thank you for this. I have an older dwarf Meyer lemon growing in the ground on the north west corner of my house. I have been lucky as it makes lots of fruit, but needs a lot of trimming as it bends toward the sun. I am in Los Angeles basin and am creating a cutting to try in a container in Riverside. Yes, the plants each have a spirit.
