I’ve been working in the hospitality/food & beverage industry for years, most people don’t know that generally bartenders will not actually mix in vermouth to martinis. They generally just swirl in the glass like you do and dump, so you’re absolutely doing it right! I love you and your content, you bring joy to gloomy winter days.

Hey Katy, something you might be interested in reading is a book by Carol Dweck called Mindset: the psychology of success. It’s based on her mindset theory and how having a growth mindset (which you can find info online about) relates to all aspects of our lives. I thought you might like it because of your comments on your thoughts of failure as a child and how it affected your mindset in school. I’m an elementary teacher and reading her book and researching about her theory completely changed my views on failure, work ethic, and my response to feedback/criticism. Something to look into if you’re interested! Happy Holidays!

omg you and your sister are literally the embodiment of what I believe. I believe we should fight this thing where society only respects those who study the usual things, like medicine, or law; and instead focus on what brings us joy and makes us feel in our element and of value to our community. ♥️ Also, you're such an inspiration Katy, I switched studies a few times, until I found what I really fell inlove with. Our educational system is a bit different here in the Netherlands. I'm finally doing a master atm that I dreamed of, but am finding myself feeling stuck as I have to do my thesis on a topic that would link uni to my potential future job. All my experience has been theoretical, and what I dream of is directing and writing documentaries. I have no experience in directing but can't seem to let that idea go. Do you have any tips for someone who would want to shift into something more practical after having focused on surviving uni and its theoretical intensity (which is pretty related and i pretty much enjoyed as well (media &culture).
