I visited this market with my Guyanese friends and 4 other Americans while on a mission trip from Alabama, USA. The market was teeming with shoppers and it was amazed at not only the fish, fowl and vegetables offered but also all types of mercantile. Very interesting.

As a native born Guyanese now living overseas. This is amazing. Everything is fresh and never proccessed...it's as organic as organic can be. It's just the natural way of life there..

The market scenes remind me of the original Belize City Market, located at the foot of the Swing Bridge. The similarities between Belize and Guyana are rather astounding.

I love your market place but how come nobody use ice to keep the fish fresh
@Westindiangyal11112 жыл бұрын
That is America. In the Guyana the fish is caught fresh. As a born Guyanese this is the culture and how it is. No 9ne has ever gotten sick. In fact they live long lives. This is how it is in most west Indian countries.

Do they grow Durians in Guayana?
@Sirozy6 жыл бұрын
I am not sure, but as far as I know, I think Durians don't grow in Guyana. I believe it is an Asian fruit.
