How To Patch Your MicroKorg XL

Good news. There IS a way to bring back the default presets even though you have overwritten them with your own patches. The way to do this is through the Microkorg Sound Editor. Simply download the Editor AND their default bank via their website, open it in on the Editor, then transfer back on your Microkorg XL if desired. I have already made my own bank/s and sharing with others. Basically, you can make unlimited presets/banks, considering you transfer them on the Sound Editor and save the bank/s on your pc.

I noticed at a recent zapp concert they have the microkorg and no longer use dx100. Which do you prefer microkorg or xl?. Do you know what amp they use? There was no wires connected so it must be battery operated?

Bro... great vid, but I just now got a microkorg XL and I can't get the sound you are getting. I'm using the gooseneck mic that comes with the keyboard. Are you using an actual talkbox or are you getting that sound with the built in mic? Secondly, how do I get that sound, bruh?

Adam Skaggs He is using a talkbox called „talkbox banshee“. It needs a little bit of exercise to control a clean sound but its very nice to use! Good luck! The output of the microkorg goes into the banshee. Then put one end of the to the hole of the banshee, the other end in your side pocket of your mouth. Press a key to make a sound. Form a vowel like whispering a word. Your mouth will change the sound likewise when your talking and articulate different tones.

@@michellew.3691 I have everything. The KORG and the Talkbox. I cant any sound at all. I dont hear any sound coming from the talkbox. I can hear sound if I hook my KORG up to external speakers... Other than that, I dont hear any thing as far as a talkbox sound. I need extra help asap! Please!

Plug the keyboard into your computer via USB and use Korg's sound editing software. Also cross your fingers, pray, or whatever it is you do to hope that the korg isn't write protected. If it is and you can't unwrite protect it from the keyboard, you're going to need to either replace the knobs or get a new keyboard (warranty maybe?)

Remember, make sure your putting the cable from your output, usually left mono, to your input of your TALKBOX.

No. Overwritting the program takes one extra step. If you were to. Shut it off and turn it on after initialization. It wouldn't change the patch.

The XL has a much cleaner sound. It's basically the R3 with a smaller form factor.

+lacuevadelvampiro you can't really do much, but use signals to create or emulate the sounds of drums. I advise you to check out sound design, im really glad you asked ill add that to my list of tutorials, I'll cover how to make drums sounds from your synth.

Try a sweeping wave format, id look up the techno/ trance patch you'll have to modify the filters, lfo's and ect. i dont know that exact sound though. sorry i cant be more of help...
