Actually crazy how many people say this is garbage because he plays it differently. The dudes been playing the solo for 30 years, he's just changing things up and really feeling it. Oh but wait... I forgot... Anything that isn't played EXACTLY note for note as the record is absolute trash. ESPECIALLY when it's a legendary guitar player feeling his own music...

Exactly. He's left Megadeth many years ago and made new career in Japan. I guess he never meant to play Megadeth songs again. The Workshop wasn't about Megadeth songs, but his new record over his new career in Japan. He just wrote his name on my guitar with japanese letters

Actually he did a great job because he was playing that fairly clean without a lot of gain or overdrive. It was great and he didn't make any mistakes. He chose to change up some of the notes

Wow, I'm amazed at how he changed the shape when he does crazy hammer ons and pull offs at 0:57 from the 10th fret to 12th fret, turning into a major arpeggio and making it easier to play. It also may sound better I'm unsure.

I think Marty is limited here by the lack of his pedal board which contains wonderful things most guitarists dont use which give allow him to make the guitar sound human and sing. He sounds great without of course, but that Marty sounds we all love has a few secret ingredients.

Everyone always plays the bit at 39 seconds as a little tremolo picked section but he actually does something different and I can't work out what he's doing. It sounds similar but his hand certainly isn't tremolo picking. Can't put my finger on it. I think he may be string skipping playing octaves......?

É exatamente isto. Ele saiu do Megadeth há muitos anos e nem passa mais pela cabeça dele tocar essas músicas novamente. Ele se mudou para o Japão já há muito tempo e já tem toda uma carreira construida lá e a antiga banda já é passado. O Workshop em questão não era sobre o Megadeth, mas sobre sua nova carreira no Japão.

Wonderfully articulated with soul and finesse, artistic liberty from the writer. Les Paul, hard to play solo, hum, ever heard of Jimmy Page, Slash, Early Jeff Beck, Gary Moore. So, not every metal rip is on a MIA Charvel, Jackson, ESP, Ibanez or Custom Dean. Yes he should have stayed with IMO the best song writer and Lead/Rhythm guitar ITB Dave Mustaine. So much left on the table because of large ego's.

Jimmy Page is not the best example---dude was often a sloppy mess live. Alex Skolnick is a pure shredder and often uses unmodified Les Pauls live.

But back then, he was playing it the way it was on the album, and Kiko never played it as well as that clip. And if we want note-for-note perfection, Broderick was even better than Kiko at that.
