The tune used is easily identifiable as an exact replication of the tune composed for the great Gospel hymn: May The Lower Lights Be Burning, which is my favorite song ever recorded by the late great Jimmy Dean. As much as I love and admire Marty Robbins, I think he would have fared much better if he had just sung the original hymn.
