Lyrics: In the world's mighty gallery of pictures hang the scenes that're painted from life There's pictures of love and of passion and there's pictures of keys and of strife There hung pictures of youth and of beauty of old age and a blushing young bride They all hung on the wall but the saddest of all are the pictures from life's other side Just a picture from life's other side someone has fell by the way A life has gone out with the tide that might have been happy some day There's a poor old mother at home she's watching and waiting alone Just longing to hear from a loved one so dear just a picture from life's other side Now the first scene is that of a gambler who's lost all of his money at play And he drowses dead mother's ring from her finger That she wore long ago on her wedding day It's his last earthly treasure but he stakes it Then bows his head that his shame he might hide But when they lifted his head they found he was dead That's just a picture from life's other side Now the last scene is that by the river of a heartbroken mother and babe As the harbor lights shine and they shiver on an outcast soon no one will save And yet she was once a true woman she was somebody's darling and pride God help her she leaps but there's no one to weep it's a picture from life's other side

now the next scene is one of two brothers, whose lives were a might differently led -- one lived in luxury and riches, the other one begged for his bread. One night while out on the highway -- "your money or your life" one brother cried, then with his knife took his own brother's life --that's a Picture from Life's Other Side.

Hank Sr's music started it all for me as a musician. His words and music have haunted me for years. I've read everything written about him, visited his grave and places he's been, many times. Hoping it would help me decipher the eerie dreams I often have of him. It didn't, but I do feel closer to him. With a better understanding of the man himself.

The suit Hank 3 is wearing belonged to his grandad. It used be on display in a shadow box on The Marty Stuart Show set. He gave it to Hank 3 in return for appearing on the show. He put it on and played his grandad's song with Marty Stuart. AWESOME.

I saw III in concert about a year after I saw Jr. in concert, in 1995. I was amazed at the resemblance Hank III has to Hank Sr. My Dad played bluegrass & old country music til he couldn't anymore. Growing up I attended many festivals in Georgiana, AL , and many across the South, to hear people try to sound like Hank Sr., and hearing Hank III do it effortlessly was a priceless moment for me. Thank You to my Daddy for all the memories you gave me.

I like both of these individuals. III Sounds like his grandfather and looks like him too. His grandfather did the same thing he does, plays his own kind of music. Marty is a pure musician, unlike III. Marty can play anything with strings and play it exceptional. Marty made enough money in his youth to be what he is in his older years. Marty has played with more legends than most people know in Nashville. When you start playing with a legend when you are 12, you are a badass period. They are two different individuals who represent opposite ends of life's spectrum, and they both do it well.

FYI, Hank III has been playing guitar, bass, and drums in numerous bands. He plays many genres from classic country to hard core & heavy metal. So I don't think you can say Hank III is not a pure musician...

@@tony85840 100% truth. I've seen him live many times. He plays in all 3 or 4 bands on the bill. At the end of playing for several hours straight, he sits on the edge of the stage and motions to the crowd to come close where he signs autographs and takes pics.
