Marty, I’ve been watching you for about 14 years now (long time).. Although you have no idea who I am, you’ve taught me so much throughout the years. Although life got busy and I’ve gotten rid of my guitars, you inspire me to pick one back up because of videos like this. You’re always the man!! Much love!

@@dougsmith8430 I did actually. Have a great sounding Cort acoustic that I primarily play, along with recently getting a new setup with a strat and Boss Katana (one of Marty’s recommendations). Great setup for a hobbyist guitar player and I absolutely love playing as much as I always did. The acoustic especially. Such a soulful sound and feel to it. Life is busy, but I can’t see myself ever stop playing, just out of passion for music.

When I first picked up a guitar way back in the 70s. Trying to pick out the chords from a record or cassette was so hard unless you had a great ear. Even if you had the sheet music, knowing all the inversions would of been beyond me back then. Guys like you have made learning the guitar so accessible. You still need to put the hours in but you provide the platform to help new guys and keep them learning.

Dude Marty music as inspired me to become a musician i was struggling for 4 years before your videos .I couldn't play a song let alone a f a power chord or chord progression . Now i can play up to 5 songs and be able to beat the metronome over 130 with the chord progression i learned. Thanks for helping play the songs i loved to listen when i was going keep on Rocking .

My wife bought me a Taylor for Christmas and it's the only guitar I've been playing since. It has already completely changed my perspective on acoustic guitars and tone. It has also made me seek out new songs to learn and I always look forward to seeing your videos there no matter what genre I seem to be obsessed with at the moment. Thanks, Marty!

Thank you Marty for uploading these songs. I cannot afford guitar lessons at the moment and listening and learning a song from you is really improving my ear, sight and feel of the music. I really appreciate the blues music you have been sharing and a lot of my strumming is in the "land of a7" and I will never forget that and your influence on my playing. Cheers from Britain.

Hi Marty, I have learned so much from you. back in the day a guitar player had to have a cassette deck, stopping and starting the particular song, over. and over again. I look at the comments and I think there are a lot of guitar players who may have given up if not for you. That's quite a legacy. I'm sure you will end up in heaven and when you get there Jesus will be standing at the pearly gates with a Les Paul in his hand asking you to teach him "Smoke on the Water."

Hey Marty, I have watched alot of your song videos and I just wanted to say thanks they are really helpful for someone like me who wants to learn but cant pay for guitar lessons. I just wanted to suggest that in your videos maybe spend a little time talking about the melody of the songs you are teaching and how to keep time and what not. I know these songs are really popular and most people know the melody by heart but its a little difficult when applying that to playing. Thanks again for all these awesome videos and rock on!

probably the best Bernie Taupin song IMO...really poignant especially as we 'hunker down' in our own type of 'capsules'.....still further this song resolves (D with G bass), (and others C-am walk down, C, G...shit it is a wonderful song from my adolescence . It gives me hope even though the poor astronaut might not have made it back to earth... it is a song about victory ...somehow we will all get to our " home" in the end....Thanks brotha
