Gavin... I hear you buddy. I used to be the same way. Then, somehow I started adding in a barre chord here and there and next thing I knew, I went from being an AWFUL guitar hack to being a not-all-that-bad guitar hack. Get you string height at the nut checked. If you can kind of play an F barre chord, the a G barre chord at the 3rd fret will be a breeze and an A barre chord at the 5th fret is SO EASY. Learning G, then A and then B (and C) "E" shaped barre chord is easy. You might even say, "OH... That's what those dots are for" (on the side of the neck.) Then learn B, C, D, E and maybe F using the "A" barre chord shape. It will change your guitar playing forever. And then playing things like C#m will just be another chord. I'll even pick songs that I used to only play in open chords and play them with NO open chords. It's cool to see how they sound the same... but different.
@gtsipejr5 жыл бұрын
Gavin, keep at it, they will come. Mine kind of surprised me when I could actually play a few, still not great, but a break through. Now I can even play them on my old beater hundred dollar guitar.

your lesson videos helps alot usually when i try to watch other people's lesson videos they don't describe it well like the chords or the patterns there is only a few other people i can understand when it comes to trying to learn new song but when i want to learn a song i always check to see if u have a lesson on it first since i understand u. sometimes i have no clue wat i want to learn but rlly want to learn a new song so ill just go through ur videos and watch the first part where u play it first before you start teaching and i just keep on till i find something that sounds fun to play my favorite kind of music is country but it seems all the same on guitar to me and some of it is plain and all the same chords just a little different order and patterns i like songs that are unique and has some slides, hammer ons and some pull offs but at the same time not to extreme this song is a perfect song to learn rlly fun and u did a great job at teaching it
