For an even more eco-friendly version, find some free 5 gallon buckets from a local store or restaurant! Most of them end up in landfills

The packs you get from the worm farming companies are already pre washed. The cheap stuff you need to wash and few times😀

Sorry mate, I'm just asking for what you mean by "cocoons" please? Are we talking about a different worm? I'm a but confused. My background.. grown up on the Murray, with avid river fisher family. Grandfather also an amazing, like AMAZING gardener. So basically, the worm farm was multiuse lol. Although Grandfathers worm farm was 2 of those old outdoor, concrete laundry, double sinks. Also, his medium was just dirt, haha. Obviously, it's more commercialised nowadays, and there are much "cleaner" ways to breed em up! 😂 However, my understanding was that our red/earth/wriggler.. worms, all laid eggs. What are you referring to when you say making cocoons? My own worm farm (city dweller atm, but love my free vege food, and we still head up river for a fish when we can), is one of those square, layered green ones. Generally, left over fruits and veges from the Grandsons tend to provide more of their food haha. But I've still never seen a "cocoon". Please let me know what you mean?

Hi, Cocoons are eggs where the eggs hatch from. Inside a cocoon there can be up to seven babies. But generally there is around 1 to 3 baby worms inside.
