He might not be "vanilla" he just might be too "vanilla" to ask her, she should bring up. And look at the women folk going, sure, you should be able to go outside your marriage for some strange, in fact it's good for your marriage. That writer is already looking outside she is ready to cheat and is ready to blame him for not catering to her needs without talking to him. She wants that thrill of messing around hoping she won't get caught and screw up her marriage. Or even then she doesn't care if her marriage is screwed up.
