Siemens GTO-VVVF propulsion produced one of the most unique train sound I've ever heard. A type of locomotive made by Siemens type "ES64U2" also produced similar "doremi" sound as this one, albeit with some differences.

yes the "Taurus" type. there are still some left on the RailJet trains in Austria/Germany/Switzerland, but the passage of frequencies is slower because the demultiplication is different. In terms of similar sounds(stage and frequencies), the Metro Seoul 7000 series uses an Alstom GTO-VVVF with stages.The Tokyo metro serie 02 with the old 4 quadrant chopper too.

@@Lodai974 As far as I know and see (from some Austrian railfan youtube channel) the ES64U2 (known in Austria as ÖBB Class 1116) are still very commonly used for many types of train, from high speed train "Railjet", to commuter service "Cityjet", and also freight train service.

@@alifpb98Yes! The OBB (austrian railways) have ordered many of these locomotives and are still the majority in austria. Switzerland and Germany, which had many in the past, have switched to EMUs for their intercity connections. They are therefore less frequent. Overall, towed passenger car convoys are doomed to disappear, replaced by EMUs. Most European countries are currently in the midst of a transition.

@@alifpb98 We still have all 332 locomotives. One of them is permanently in the workshop since it was badly damaged when one of the traction converters exploded as the DC bus capacitors failed. It is used for spare parts.
