I'd go for CNG. Costs approx 5 lacs less and easily gives a city mileage of over 22 kmpl and a highway mileage of 27-28 kmpl @ Rs 75/kg. Absolute value for money. This was the reason why I went for xl6 Zeta CNG. With a real world mileage as above at Rs14.20 lakhs on road. I see very low incentive in spending over 5 lakhs for it. P.S. This is strictly from a mileage perspective. As far as comfort and performance goes I get a blip of 12 BHP when driving on cng with 88 bhp whereas when driving on petrol I get a 101 bhp. But trust me I feel very little lag between the two. As far as comfort goes, it is a no brainer. Gives you everything you need. Yes, if you are looking for auto transmission, ventilated seats and other accessories then it's a different matter. Otherwise strictly from mileage perspective cng is anyday better.

We get around 20+KMPL with many other 1.5lts diesel engines. Also, battery has to be replaced and may cost ~2laks (not sure about the value - assumption based on Camry's battery cost). If the owner does not drive a lot, then again Hybrid or EV does not make sense. If the mileage is over 35KMPH without reducing the riding delight, would make a better choice/option for me.

but you are forgetting main point that diesel engines are dinosaurs. in next few years all manufacturers will stop diesel engines. this will be best replacement for diesel engines. with new pollution norms it is really difficult to upgrade diesel engines. TATA is just surviving on Fiat sourced diesel engines and they know they need to switch for alternate solution like bring bring new petrol engine.

This is absolutely misleading video to the buyers .. I got a brand new Grand vitatra strong hybrid and drive it 900 KM in city area moderate traffic condition and continuously in eco mode .. The true average is just around 15kmpl on most smoother way of driving . I think it's 2-3 Km lesser that maruti mild hybrid engine . over and above the K series 4 cylinder suzuki engine is much smoother in terms of engine sound this toyota 3 cylinder engineer sounds and vibrates like an old school disel ambasadoor engine . Toyota in collaboration with suzuki is just cheating indians with this hybrid concept no gain at all rather selling the old tech 3 cylinder engines using maruti name .. I repent about this engine for which I paid 3L premium over a normal K series mild hybrid Please raise it to Maruti and toyota on my behalf .. it's cheating to indian customers just to compete with strong built VW/Skoda or feature rich Kia and Hyundai mid size cars . Simply it's a petrol car and fuel economy is not that great . Strong hybrid arrangement is just a hype to cell old 3 cylinder toyota engines that to taking 3 L more price .

Maruti don't have its own engine unlike tata and Mahindra. Maruti depends on Suzuki/Toyota the Japanese car makers. Since Japanese have only petrol engines, maruti is helpless. Getting Fiat multiget makes it costlier. But the business tactics of Maruti is Selling a underpowered petrol cars that too at the price of Diesel cars presently available in the market. Maruti tries to justify by giving features like 360 degree camera, HUD, which are no way useful to the driver. Now a days Maruti lables it's car by mileage. But don't forget that it has got a battery inside to give power. Lifetime of the battery is just 2 years. Approximately it will cost 1 to 1.5 lacs for replacement that too in just 2 years. Think about it.
