@@TOX1Cparadise Yeah, not only do they feel like they're intentionally designed to avoid any close resemblances with the MCU actors, but they look like they could've been designed without any actual actor mo-cap or real person references. The faces are all bizarrely generic, with no unique distinguishing features. No personality. It's hard to really explain, but I'm an Illustrator, and it's the type of generic design that I've seen when people are designing characters from their imagination.

@@HB.IN21 Not a fanboy, critic up to launch day, played it and fell in love with the attention to detail Crystal Dynamics put in this game. The marketplace is there, but it has no value to playing the game itself. No need, it’s not trying to get you any way they can, they just have the option there for those with the money and not the time. Same concept in Destiny’s marketplace, and you can purchase that stuff with in game currency you earn from playing the game as well. The fact that this was the major concern and the opening for this review was the real bias in people who weren’t looking for the good.

The big problem is how generic this game is. You’re supposed to be the Avengers, heroes of myths and legends of modern time. Hulk should be smashing things and with ease and jumping about like in ultimate destruction, not at that level but something similar. Iron man should be souring through the sky with a whole Arsenal you can customise, mix and match. Lasers, types of rockets. Imagine iron man be weapons but more. Also power management from iron man 1 game but better. Cap should feel like mix of boxer, mms fighter etc., with him having different buttons doing different forms of attack, like jab or heavy punch, sort of like a fighting game, the a button for the shield which can be used within the combo. He should also feel relatively fast and variable jump heights. Widow should be based more on stealth and agility. She should be able to sneak around enemies without needing to use an ability during combat and deal more damage and also use the enemies weapons against them, like in avengers, where she needs to constantly exchange her weapons with the chitari. Maybe she could pop in the mech for a few seconds and all. Thor should be sort of a partner in crime with hulk. While hulk has speed, he can’t deal damage across a big area at once, while Thor is slower within combat but using his lightning or other abilities, should deal large area damage. Kamala should play as a normal character that has buttons to attack and range, but have a specific button you hold to enlarge the part of yourself doing the attack, but if you don’t, the distance of the attack is longer as it stretches so you have more choices and versitility to combat.

Just wait a couple months and this game will be on sale. As someome who bought it, I highly recommend waiting until then. The campaign is enjoyable i guess but it's definitely way too short. Characters max out at level 50 but you'll be lucky to have gotten to level 10 with any character by the time the campaign ends. And thats assuming you used one avenger the entire time. I can't believe how short they made the campaign. And add into it that the reason the campaign was so short was because they opted to do a terrible multiplayer aspect that just doesn't land. Every level has the exact same design because you have to be able to complete it with any avenger. This leads to repetitive levels that don't make you want to come back. Strange that they want you to replay these "missions" over and over yet they have no real payoff or purpose. The loot you get might as well not be there. Just invisible numbers that increase your stats very slighty but offer no cosmetic change. Overall this game would've benefited from something similar to what insomniac did with spider man in 2018. If it was a single player focused, action rpg type game with a more refined combat and looting system, it would be a phenomenal game. It should be a phenomenal game when you are working with that IP. The fact that it fails in so many areas is really disappointing.

Even if they are free on launch players shouldn't be forced to spend hundreds of hours on each character just to unlock some cosmetics. Couldn't remember how to send you a direct message through Patreon but on a recent Podcast (#205) I heard you say your favorite shooter ever was Halo 1 and I just couldn't believe it because that's what mine was before you said it. The epicness, the feeling of possibility, and just the world building and narrative were amazing for that time and even now. Has stuck with me to this day. They really did an absolutely amazing job with Halo 1!!!

It is Disney, I can't think of a single game they have ever been involved in making that could remotely be considered anything other than "shitty quality". Disney has never done video games well, or even at a mediocre level.

Its actually really fun to play and way better than the reviewer is making it seem ...The reviewer hasnt even unlocked the full arsonal of powers and combos which i can say makes the game even more fun ..Even the complaints about micro transactions are dumb because you can actually get those items with in game currency by completing your challenge card challenges...All in all the things that you do amd dont want in the game you just have to inform the devs thats whet they are there for ...

Virgin Avengers Game: Bland and lifeless, full of microtransactions, clunky gameplay, Square Enix and Marvel let Sony play dirty by making Spider-Man PlayStation-exclusive even though they only own the film rights to the character. Chad Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Colorful visuals that does its best to mimic a Saturday morning cartoon, more enjoyable to play, no microstransactions, but each DLC contains a new story, Spider-Man included.

Max Attax Yeah, but Marvel owns the character. Hence why the Marvel logo was shown on the top of the Spider-Man game logo. It’s not confirmed whether the Spider-Man used for the Avengers game will be the same one from Insomniac’s game series. But even so, that series made references to Marvel’s other characters and has the Bombastic Bag Man costume from his time with the Fantastic Four.
