I started reading Spiderman, Fantastic four, Thor, Daredevil and a host of others back in the sixties. It was hard to get the comics here in the UK then but when I did get one it was devoured and cherished and treasured. The writing was amazing, the heroes fantastic, the villains outstanding - I still think Doctor Doom is one of the all time greats, better the Darth Vader as far as I'm concerned. The artists where legends to me, King Kirby being my favourite. I'm almost sixty now but I still love the memory of those childhood day's coloured by the adventures of these fantastic characters. I think myself blessed that I lived through that brilliant creative time. Everyone that lived through it will remember. But I can confidently say that no one, NO ONE, is going to remember this bunch of no hopers. The writers will be forgotten, the comic buried by time. As it deserves to be.

What's bad is I have a few limited run comics where someone tried a new idea, a new story line, and a different style than what was the same ole same ole in the 90's and the comic got killed. Not by the readers, but by the industry. I LOVED those comics and industry was like "Nope, the woman doesn't have big enough boobs. Kill it." Now they try THIS and push it down our throats and this is just trash and we hate it and they're like "Suck it up, this is it now." I miss the rare awesome comics of the 90's ...

As someone who has worked in a comic shop, I always get pissed when they put out books like this and tell the shop to buy a box or two of 50 books each and make us have to sell them. Sure they don’t pay as much when they buy them in bulk, but all that money going into the crap could go to the employees, keeping the lights of, or buying stuff they actually need or could turn for a profit. But no. Now they have to spend good money on a book that will not sell unless you force people to and all 50 issues are gonna either take space in a back issues box or the $1 bargain bin.
