Pete Poplaski was the art director at Kitchen Sink and editor of Steve Canyon magazine. He colored many of the Megaton Man covers and his brother Bill colored the Border Worlds backups a few times. Pete also contributed to Alan Moore's "In Pictopia," which I drew while at the Kitchen Sink offices in Wisconsin.

In fall 1968, Goodman sold Magazine Management to the Perfect Film & Chemical Corporation. Goodman remained as publisher until 1972, which included supporting Stan's decision to disregard the Comics Code on those three issues of Amazing Spider-Man.

Evert Geradts was one of the great Dutch underground cartoonists, spearhead of the signature anthology Tante Leny, which was excerpted for the Kitchen-published Dutch Treat underground. Tante Leny was named after Geradt's girlfriend Leny Zwalve, who moved to the U.S. and married Glenn Bray. Of course, there's plenty of wonderful Geradts art in Bray's Blighted Eye book, which you did a video on. Another Tante Leny stalwart was the incredible Peter Pontiac, who did the painting used for Bray's cover and was just an astonishing image-maker, synthesizing the motifs of several of the great American cartoonists into his own manic visions.

My vote for a Kim Deitch video would be his Hollywoodland GN (Fantagraphics). That’s a fantastic read; great story, incredible art, with that weird underground surreal quality, and it features a good bit of backmatter on how the project came to fruition.

Last Christmas I gave a 2/3 full short box of duplicates and non-keepers to the local Boys & Girls Club. Have done a few other things to the little libraries. I'm just catching up on your videos, interesting things you feature. Thanks!

Abrams Press recently released "Dirty Pictures: How an Underground Network of Nerds, Feminists, Misfits, Geniuses, Bikers, Potheads, Printers, Intellectuals and Art School Rebels Revolutionized Art and Invented Comix" by Brian Doherty if anyone is interested in more comix history.
