In the comics, the Hulk has often been portrayed as a separate personality from Bruce Banner. In fact, if you look at the way the Hulk acts, he mostly resembles a tantrum throwing child who reacts negatively to noise, aggression, and too many people. It was most clear in this movie during the scene in the cave when Hulk is clearly afraid of the thunder. Part of the reason for the largely childlike persona is that Bruce was abused as a child by his father, and this led to multiple personality disorder. The Hulk personality was born as a defense mechanism and later given physical form by the gamma radiation exposure that manifested the Hulk.

@@HoodieHowie So, in the comics, Bruce's dad was incredibly abusive. He killed Bruce's mom, and got away with it. Really dark stuff. So, Bruce's personality split into three distinct characters. There was Bruce, the shy, quiet, genius. Joe Fixit, which was all of his natural attitude, confidence, and sense of humor. …and The Hulk, all of his rage. With the movies, they're completely ignoring the Mr. Fixit aspect, which is fine, it was a weird side track of the Hulk storyline created by writer Peter David. In the movie Bruce tells Betty that he's like a passenger while Hulk's in control, but it's such an overload it's like he's overdosing on LSD. Remember, you're 2 episodes into a 23 episode story. =] They go some cool places. …also definitely watch She-Hulk after all of the movies.

@@HoodieHowie In the movie, there's a bunch of easter eggs. Like the actor who playes the old guy who owns the pizza place was the voice actor for Bruce Banner in the '60 Hulk cartoon. The giant security guard who got the pizza bribe is Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk in the '70s TV series, and voiced Hulk in this movie. Mr. Blue and Betty's boyfriend are both characters from the comics, who might have roles in future MCU stuff. This movie has a lot of recurring characters in the MCU. Including the guy at the computer who also got a pizza. It's pretty cool.

Walking on the side of the road hitchhiking is also a throwback to the 70’s show, like the music & security guard Lou Ferrigno. Almost every other episode ended with him hitchhiking. Btw: he JUMPED from Brazil to Guatemala. Yeah: Hulk can do that. They gave Blonsky a serum, a super soldier serum. That’s important in later movies. When he turns into a gamma beast in Act III that character is named Abomination. Abomination can talk & is “smarter” than Hulk because Blonsky is still running the show. The serum creation is different from Banner’s creation in the gamma chamber. The Hulk can talk. He mostly chooses not to in the movies. Banner is not in control of the Hulk. He gets vague pieces of memory of being the Hulk at this point. At this point it’s best to think of them as two different characters totally. He was created as a Jeckyll & Hyde character., Also the doctor that helps Banner who also got gamma’d…by the time you’re finished your MCU journey, shows included…well don’t forget him…

1. Bruce Banner was abused by his Father, so he had to suppress parts of his personality / emotions. Hulk is his suppressed parts as a separate personality. 2. "Mr. Blue" after he gets that radiation exposer to his brain becomes a character called "The Leader". One of the smartest villains in Marvel comics. 3. "Abomination" is the Main villain's name, his "Base strength" is stronger than Hulk. But Hulk gets stronger the more angry he gets, with potentially infinite strength. And when they're doing it right, he gets bigger as he gets angrier. Because his body creates radiation and turns the radiation into mass which gives him increased strength. 4. Hulk can talk. He just doesn't say much.

That background music you heard when he was on his own after the first encounter with the military in south america was from the live action tv show. It was less about being a super hero show and more about the drama of bruce banner on the run trying to find a cure while finding himself in all manner of situations from fighting the mafia to protecting a psychic from a serial killer. It was pretty good for its time plus the guard you see eating the pizza played the original hulk in that live action series. By the way, they didn't have cgi so it was all practical effects. So, unlike any other "hulk", that is those other than Banner, that existed in the Marvel comics like Abomination from this movie, Banner's Hulk continues to get stronger/larger the angrier he gets. All others have a cap to their strength, but not the Hulk that Banner is as his blood was what was used as the original catalyst in the formula they produced and so unlimited gamma strength is uniquely tied to Banner. Also, the "Hulk" movie from before is not tied into the MCU movies.

Bruce Banner has dissociative identity disorder from the abuse he got from this father. Hulk is basically the form that his alternate personality took. Since Hulk barely comes out, his mind is like a toddler. The more Hulk is out, the smarter and more talkative he becomes. Abomination (the last guy he fought) is stronger than base Hulk, but since hulk gets stronger as he gets angrier, Hulk eventually overpowers him.

Woah woah woah, keyboard shortcuts save so much time over using a mouse a lot of the time, like even in that scene, the effort taken to get one hand from what you were typing over to the mouse, move the cursor to the close button and click could easily, in most UIs, just be one tap of an escape key or a simple Alt+F4 on PC, both of which are tonnes quicker. I guess I'm old enough that I grew up with MS-DOS commands, but knowing keyboard shortcuts saves hella time. It makes sense if going to the desktop to click an icon like he did (though now you can just press the Start button on the keyboard, start typing and it's still quicker with universal search), but for closing out of a window, that ish was slow af.

So the cool and frustrating thing about the hulk movies; even though there's 3 different actors, is they're not reboots. They're just recastings. So the end of Hulk (2003) is where Hulk (2008) picks up. Just with a different actor and some what of a different Hulk in reference to power scaling. Even the current Hulk (Avengers 2012) claims to have memories of the battle with Abomination. They try to link things in the She-Hulk series.

@HoodieHowie it won't spoil. It isn't lore. All movies and TV shows of all kinds are based on the 16 MBTI personalities. Why? Because there are only 16 personalities that exist in this world past, present, and future. There's just different variations that make up each personality. Time period, location, and who you were raised by all help determine how each variation turns out. Ironman is an ENTJ- Commander. Captain America is an ISFJ - Defender. The general is an ISTJ - Logistican. Sherlock Holmes INTP, Neo from the Matrix INTP, Gandolf INTP. Will Hunting in Good Will Hunting is an INTP-T. The T is for Turbulent. Take the personality test and look into what it says about your personality. Dig deep into a rabbit hole with it. INTP-T here. Funny, my favorite color is green, and the original Hulk came out in 77 the year I was born. Always felt like the Hulk.

"Marvel Movie " is often confusing because of the history of the movie rights between the Disney, Sony, Fox, Universal, etc. The Marvel Logo is at the beginning of tons of movies, but many aren’t related to the MCU. Most superhero movies that have been released since 1998, are based on Marvel comic books. But Marvel themselves didn’t start actually making their own movies until the MCU in 2008. Marvel went bankrupt in 1996 so they had to sell the movie rights of their most popular characters for barely any money. The studios who bought those rights would go on to make tons of money off these unfairly cheap purchases. 20th Century Fox Studios: X-Men (2000) Daredevil (2003) X2 (2003) Elektra (2005) Fantastic Four (2005) X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) X-Men: First Class (2011) The Wolverine (2013) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) Fantastic Four (2015) Deadpool (2016) X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) Logan (2017) Deadpool 2 (2018) Dark Phoenix (2019) The New Mutants (2020) Sony pictures Columbia Studios: Spider-Man 1 (2002) Spider-Man 2 (2004) Ghost Rider 1 (2007) Spider-Man 3 (2007) Ghost Rider 2 (2011) {[Then they Rebooted Spider-Man]} Amazing Spider-Man 1 (2012) Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) {[Basically rebooted Spider-Man again but without Spider-Man. Using his side characters as main charactes.]) Venom 1 (2018) Venom 2 (2021) Morbius (2022) New Line Cinema: Blade 1 (1998 ) Blade 2 (2002 ) Blade 3 (2004) Universal Pictures: Hulk (2003)

@@HoodieHowie What makes it even more confusing, Sony still has the Spider-Man Rights, but they have a deal with Marvel to put him in the MCU. After each movie he's in, they threatened to pull him out of the MCU, as a negotiating tactic to get more money out of the deal. Keeping it up in the air whether or not he will become a part of their weird side universe. If you pay attention, every MCU movie with Spider-Man ends in such a way that they could write the character out if the contract falls apart. Which is kind of my problem with the new Spider-Man movies. They never feel like they're building up to something because they always have to end in a way that could be the permanent end.
