Count Nefaria, aka Count Luchino Nefaria, is a powerful noble aristocrat, a genius scientist, and also a criminal mastermind who operates as a leading member of a powerful crime syndicate named the Maggia. He has faced both the X-Men and the Avengers. Count Nefaria possesses both high intellect and gargantuan strength as well. His immense physical prowess comes from undergoing an experiment that was conducted by Kenneth Sturdy, who was a scientist for Baron Zemo. The experiment resulted in him gaining vast superhuman powers that allowed him to easily engage many of his enemies in battle, especially the Avengers, whom he battled on many occasions.
