The chest "bubble" was called a uni-beam until the 1st Iron Man movie when they made the arc reactor a thing. So all of those lenses or bubbles on the old Iron Man designs were just another beam weapon.

I have the deluxe and am happy with that. I was jealous of the new repulsor hands till I realised the don't have hinges. Missed opportunity Hasbro. The new one looks good but I like my armoured. characters metallic I hope they do a Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man as they looked in Armour Wars. Comic book Pepper Potts, Happy Hogan, Mandarin etc would all be good.

Same. I was thinking about getting the retro to keep MOSC, but I already have the deluxe and prefer the metallic (though the white is nice). And although I like War Machine, idk if I want a second version of him in the same mold

The Mandarin and Titanium Man would be awesome. Titanium Man would have to be a deluxe figure though. Select has a very good looking Titanium Man at the moment though, so i wonder if that would hinder Hasbro making that figure.

They should have just throw in a James Roads headsculpt at the very least but Modular Ironman and The Mandarin from the animated series needs to be the next fingers that Marvel Legends make.

You wanna know what I like about the War Machine figure?? It's from that Marvel 90's cartoon I enjoyed watching growing up unlike the MCU lol.

Dreadknight came in this line... He's only been re-done once so far in a SDCC exclusive.. Problem was he didnt come with his proper Toy Biz Shield... So it should be easy for Hasbro to do him again...

I’ve thought about that too. I’d like to see Dreadknight reissued with cartoon accurate colors. I’d also like to see a classic Living Laser, Hypnotia and Force Works Century.

This retro carded War Machine arrived last week for me. I have got to say, it's an awesome figure. I like the white instead of metallic. The blast effects are nice as well. The repulsor hands didn't come with a blast effect, so i added one of my extra ones. I dig the figure, plus much cheaper than the deluxe version. But, i would've liked having the foot effect pieces though.

Dan and I are around the same age it seems and what he described is exactly what has me excited about collecting these nostalgic versions. I have the deluxe version so I wasn't gonna get this, I'm already overspending on the Spider-Man anniversary figures. So unless they give us Force Works versions of Hawkeye, Wanda, Spider-Woman, Madarin, Dreadknight, Century, Hypnotia, Blizzard, or even modular Iron Man similar in color scheme to this War Machine I'll probably be passing on this series.

I just don’t understand the white. Anytime war machine looks white in comics or cartoons, there’s black streaks and gray/blue shading to indicate that, while it is white, it’s supposed to look like a chrome/silver effect

I don't mind that he is a re release repaint because War Machine looks accurate to the comics and even though he is not accurate from the Iron Man cartoon, To me, He is 100% better than the 1st release from Hasbro, I don't have the 2020 War Machine figure, But I will try to get this ''new one'', Awesome review Dan.

I only saw the Deluxe version once, passed on it. IF this one came with the Rhodey head, it would be an instant buy. As it is, MAYBE I'll buy it IF I see it. (probably at one of the two toy shops "near" me. closer is 20+ miles away, but what isn't, these days? @_@ )
