ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I'm not sure comparing them is fair since one is comic based and the other is MCU based. I can understand the desire to do so though because the designs are so close, but in the end, they are different representations of the same character. Like I wouldn't compare a comic book Iron-Man to an MCU Iron-Man even if I could find one that is similar in design just because they were always meant to be different, so in that sense the MCU one can't really be an "upgrade". Same with Man-Thing. Anyway, I'm keeping my comic one though because like you said, the overall look that the wash gives it. While I don't dislike the MCU Man-Thing's head (phrasing) I do like the colors on the head sculpt from the BaF comic book version better. Maybe they'll re-release this one in an MCU Werewolf By Night 2-Pack and put some more effort into the paint.

In a way. The “sloppiness”. Could be explained as when at “rest” he is fully of the swamp or forest and manifests a body as needed. So after time the memory of exactness of a body may fade

According to the figure's render that Hasbro themselves put up, the final product's knees are upside-down and on the wrong sides. So if you want the leg sculpts to line up, you have to disassemble the legs, flip the knees, switch them, and put the legs back together. Wonder if this was a factory decision, like the waist swivel on Iron Man Model 20, and Hasbro didn't want to pay extra to have it fixed.

I do find it odd that they had to release Man-Thing. No Jack Russell figure in action figure form, we do have an Elsa Bloodstone in action figure form. I’d love to see an MCU version of her though.

Even though the previous comic man thing may not have had as much detail when it comes to the sculpt, from what I could tell in the video, it still had a much more consistent wash throughout, making the entire figure pop more and just overall look better, even without the added detail. I also prefer the head sculpt of that figure because the vine beards stand out more and because the eyes look creepier.

So torn......I loved Ted but....I have the BAF and while the extra sculpted detail is nice and I do enjoy painting.....it bums me out that I have to do it I really do miss the good old days of washes and painted details this one is a tough call

dude complain on! these figures are always lacking paint! They put all their attention towards their head sculpts which are great and is why we buy these figures but then realize that the rest of the body is lacking paint and significant detail!!

I don't like this figure. For me, the Toybiz one is superior. This Hasbro effort just looks like a model of a man in a rubber suit to me. They've made him too "super-heroic" looking, and less like something pulled together from a swamp... But, y'know, buy what you like.
