There is this old Diamond Select Thor figure with my fav look, the Modern comicbook look, from when he started to use the scale mail armor. It was drawn by the same artist that make this new Herald of Galactus Thor.

I have that. I believe you’re talking about the same armour/look that Hasbro came out with as an SDCC 2012 exclusive that came in with Mjolnir packaging. Have both the Marvel Select and the Hasbro SDCC 2012 Marvel Legends

This figure is basically what a Marvel Legend SHOULD be giving us for the price point every single time. Great sculpt, decent articulation considering his costume, decent amount of accessories, good heroic proportions... I feel satisfied by this figure. It feels like a McFarlane figure with better articulation overall.

I went a little bit creative with how I use him. I gave him Shao Khan's Hammer and I use him as 'Donar, Evil German Thor' in my Dark Avengers. His outfit even looks sort of like a D. I have, with great difficulty, made a 22 member Dark Avengers made up of alternate counterparts, and that is not anything close to the actual Dark Avengers lineup. This Figure as Donar, Outback Hulk, Grey She Hulk, White Vision, Negative Spider-Man etc. Basically going for alternates that could be an Anti-Avengers.

My favorite look of Thor’s in the War of the Realms story. I think that’s when he became All Father. I don’t mind the look of Herald of Galactus but that WotR design reminds me of a younger King Thor with the Destroyer arm and missing eye. I wish they continued with that look. Hopefully we get that in figure form soon.

Actually it is current costume for thor and probably most strongest version..and he is not really working for galactus he is just working with him to take down a greater foe ..well at the end of the day he ended up killing galactus ... One of the best thor storyline for thor...I highly recommend

Pretty much Galactus was injured from a battle and Thor happened to be there and He made a deal with Thor to give Thor some of His cosmic powers yet giving Thor freedom if Thor helps Him out

I didn't like this look initially but it grew on me. The costume sometimes has shimmery or lenticular kinda where the cosmos in the shadows never look the same in each panel. My favorite design is the Godbomb/butcher version. Keep hoping we'll see that. They did a repaint of the return of marvel legends Thor to be kinda similar but that body was all wrong. The Marvel Select version is great but I want a proper legends one.

it'd be super cool to see this model painted with the speckled galaxy-esc pattern as seen in the original art. If I were to buy this figure I'd probably get some citadel paint and add them myself. It'd increase the overall look significantly!

I am also very happy with this release. I actually did not even notice the purple on the cape on mine until this review. Based on the arc this design is based on he should have sparkle sparkle - kinda like what they did with Cosmic Ghost Rider. But I dont trust that they would have made the star pattern look that great so ill take the clean black look. I wish they could have found a way to have the ravens attach to Thor - but that would obviously be a Luxury.

My guess for way they sculpt the upper abdomen that way is to simulate a ribcage. When you're standing with your back straight, the bottom of your ribcage doesnt typically stick out. But then when you bend backwards, the bottom of your ribcage becomes visible

It's a bit of false advertising. The packaging has the thor iteration with the constellation that he obtains after becoming imbued with the power cosmic. What we got is regular king thor before becoming herald. Answering your question about fav thor. I like the astonishing thor(Terrax baf wave). Beefy, blocky. I like this one a lot, too.

I like the costume design on this Thor but I prefer the head with helmet on the old traditional Thor. I might both just to head swap. Definitely will have to get him a soft goods cape off Etsy.

I just purchased this figure for 19.99. I have wanted this figure since it came out. Just wanted to let the price drop a little bit. I just love this characters designs from the drawings and the concept. This power bump and the display of power just seems awesome. And I super love the ravens. They add this element of extreme power because he has these extra beings that grant him some sort of utility power to add to his already powerful design.

My favorite Thor design is the Marvel NOW Thor which is the one they used for the last Marvel Select Thor, it's simple but VERY effective in my opinion. My second favorite design is the one where he has this same suit but his arms are showing and he has the helmet.

After Heroic Age look ( I call the JMS Thor for the writer where the look first appeared) this is my favorite look. I never cared for "bare arms" Thor designs. I always felt with Thor being much more experienced in the superhero age of the Marvel comic universe, he would wear more armor and not be as arrogantly youthful.

Separate question: could you review some more figures from the Lightning Collection? Yes, most of them have similar if not the same engineering from one figure to the next, they did drop in quality after wave 1 and I know you personally don’t have much of an attachment to any Power Rangers outside of Mighty Morphin. But I am just asking cuz recently they’ve caught my eye and I’m curious if Hasbro’s made any notable improvements. I know I’m not a swaying patreon supporter but do you think you could review one or two from Rangers in Space, Time Force, Dino Thunder, and/or SPD? Thanks either way, Anthony!
