As a fan of the original classic fat toad look, I was won over by this figure when I got it in hand. I thought I was compromising... After all, how many Toads is Hasbro going to give us?... But this guy was a pleasant surprise. A very nice figure with cool play factor. All that said, however, absolutely NOT worth the initial sticker price. If you can get this guy discounted, get 'im!

I really wish it were possible to have you interview some of the sculptors who work on these figures so we could hear what exactly their guidelines are in terms of what parts they have to reuse and what things they would have liked to have done but weren't allowed to. I know that will never happen but I think it would be interesting to hear how many things they wanted to implement but weren't allowed to.

I really like this Toad figure, but not for $34. Fortunately that’s not what I paid, so I’m reasonably satisfied. There have been some great ML figures this year, but I’m out on paying anything near MSRP for the vast majority of them. If I really like it and it’s a popular character I enjoy like Lizard or Rhino (even those dropped) without a reasonable alternative, I might bite, but that’s about it. I happy I canceled my preorders for the Spider-Man 2-packs. I ordered all three and the price was like $205. Yikes. Particularly considering they put the wings on the wrong character. I found the Ned/Peter for $17 at Dirt Cheap and got Spinneret/Spider-Man for $38 on Amazon. I’m keeping an eye out for Knull/Venom, but if I don’t find it, I really don’t mind. It’s so easy to pass on a $80 price point for something I’m only casually interested in. That set is $25 or bust for me.

Not worth the money. If sh figuarts can make a $35 figure with way more accessories and articulation than most other figures(the new naruto figure) then I think they can too.

Hasbro Marvel Legends are all overpriced, let's get that out of the way first. But you cant compare Naruto, who most Americans have never even heard of, to a Marvel character.

Most marvel characters aside from x men and spider man are only well known because of the mcu, so if this guy hasn’t appeared in a movie I doubt he’s anywhere near as popular as naruto.

@@Jvm-iq2qe I give you Toad, but the other figures in the wave were Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk. 3 of the most well known superheroes. Hasbro could get away with the price though because they hadn't released a Toad in 20 years and it's a really good figure. But again, all marvel legends are overpriced now. I pick and choose my favorites now.

I use the backdrop for Cap but agree it is a waste of budget. Would rather an extra accessory (eg. A NORMAL shield for cap 🤦 and yea bendy tongue would be great for Toad)

If I see him at half price I'll be interested. The new parts look great. He needed new arms with the costume wrinkles. The stand is ok, but the cardboard backdrop isn't something I'd use. I'm guessing for wave two Spidey and Cyclops will get a release.

Toad may not be the old classic 60s version, But to me, He looks really badass despite the price not being 100% good, I don't even have this figure in hand, But I will eventually get Toad to go with my Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in my own X-MEN villains shelf, Overall, Fantastic review on this cool Jim Lee style Toad Anthony.

Skipped him as I felt it was not worth the price they were asking for. Did I want him? Sure why not. Will I miss him? Nope, it's a piece of plastic that I can live without and won't affect my happiness for not having him. I got another figure that was cheaper and worth the price and I'm happy. Win win situation. Hasbro doesn't get my money for over priced piece of plastic; another manufacturer got my money for something that they released that was worth the price they were asking for. As for the question of the day, those cardboard background/holders? Probably in some landfill or garbage barge.

I love this figure but it is NOT worth $35 retail. Hasbro really made themselves look foolish by releasing these Marvel Legends year one edition figures and charging absurd amounts for them while including far less then the original releases. If we got a real comic and an actual display base $35 would have been fine IMO.

Just Saw This on My phone and It just made my way here at work! This was my Favorite Figure from this year Mostly because of the look and the fact that it was a Childhood favorite of mine. The 35$ dollar price...well...that what they cost here in Dominican Republic (even more) even for the normal releases so to me It's was Cool

I got him for 25% off during Pulse’s Cyber Monday sale. Is he worth $35? Probably not. Is he worth $26.25? Yeah, I think so. This is probably my choice for the top ML figure of 2022. As for the cardboard cutout? It went in the recycling bin along with the rest of the packaging. Like you said, wasted budget money.

I remember the 2002 figure was pretty sick. Made him look grungy and nasty but with little articulation. Would like them to release a figure more similar to that one but that's unlikely to happen.

what irks me most about Hasbro, how does this figure, (or lando) which initially cost me 27.99 at gamestop earlier this year, now cost ten bucks more? So hasbro is retroactively increasing their prices on figures they already produced? Those 19 dollar peg warming landos now cost Hasbro five dollars more to NOT produce more of? Price gouging isn't just something at the gas pump. As Collectors we deserve better. They know adults have taken the lead in buying figs and are half assing the quality all around and saying that costs them more? At what point will we just stop eating all the farts they try and pump down our throats? So to summarize my soapbox diatribe, thank you Anthony. You've saved us all alot of money with your reviews... I might pick this guy up, but those pizza spidey(?) arms really bother me. It seems like a weird spot to run out of sculpting/tooling budget. Maybe that's a new kid/teen buck with arms that are too short for toad.

Price-wise, not really worth it compared to, say, a NECA that costs the same price. Cool piece, but not a character I personally care about. As far as the stands, I use it for my Cap, but only the comic cover side, the mural on the backside is well drawn but useless. I ended up making a diorama piece styled like the OG Toybiz base.

I collect NECA horror characters and love their sculp and detail, but their articulation isn't good. I want my Marvel characters to be have dynamic articulation. Same reason I don't get Marvel Selects or Super 7s.
