I love the Select. To me, the colors on the ML are a bit too dark. As Legends figures go, I prefer the Astonishing Colossus they released in the X-Men Classics (I believe?) line. The brighter silver and less washed out yellow/red was a bit more appealing to my eye. That all said, the Select is definitely my go-to Colossus now. I can fudge the scale to my liking, owing it to the "artist interpretation" of bigger characters in the comics. I'd definitely be interested in a full collection video once you hit 100,000. Great video here!

good comparison. Colossus is actually my favorite marvel character so I couldn't decide which figure to get so I have all 3, the series 5, x-men classics and marvel select.

I prefer the Select version. I like the bigger characters in the Select line to pose with my Legends. I have this guy facing off with Select Juggernaut...my all time fav Select. Great review btw!

I just got the Select Colossus recently and it is SO GREAT! I've always been a huge Colossus fan and the Legends version just didn't capture him well enough, basically for all the reasons you pointed out.

I prefer the select because it's cleaner and the legends face seems more of a “I will hurt you no matter what" and the selects seems to be a “I now need to hurt you in defense"

I have to go with the Select Colossus. Not only am I happy with him as part of my Legends action figures, I used on as the base figure for my custom Death's Head figure. the proportions and sculpt work great for DH.

Yeah im with you Glenn I have the older one and i also have the select juggernaut and i was thinking that one is way to small the select would look way better going up against him. I also have the HULK select, THING and abomination I think the select figures go great with legends. Im also ganna get sabertooth.

Glenn, first congrats on getting to nearly 100,000 subs and at the time of me typing this it's only 3,317 subs away, secondly did you apply the wash to wolverine before or after you stopped customizing? I'm assuming you just kept your paint equipment in the case that you hypothetically come back to customizing and fixing any bad paintwork from Hasbro.

I have the Select Colossus & like it because it's tall & has a nice sculpt. I wish he had articulated hands. As far as the size scale, there's been comics where Wolverine could fit in Colossus's hand, for a fastball special. I like Colossus being close to the height & size of characters like Juggernaut & Thing (perhaps not as wide).

I agree with you. The detail on toybiz is almost too much for a comic book figure. I like my legends bright and colourful. Special mention should go to XMen Legends colossus, £3.99 in pound stretcher during the good times!

wow that THANOS is still in stores? I got mine online it was one of the first legends i got online. I say get it it's alot better than the BAF THANOS and if your a fan of the classic look then go for it.

I'd love to see a collection tour. I think that Callosus (I've probably spelt that wrong) is due a new marvel legends figure because as much as I love the old toybiz one, it's not aged that well.

I collect marvel legends....but when it comes to the big strong guys I feel like marvel select does them better. Colossus....hulk....juggernaut......all of the big guys make more of a dramatic show in the select line. Plus they weigh like a pound each. Definitely like selects better just because they dont tend to get as super loose as legends do. I hate it when every other legend I buy brand new out of thr pack is so loose it wont stand up on it own.

I'd go with the select. If the legends had the deco and ankle pivot (or just any ankle pivot) then it would be superior.

I'd go with the Legends figure as I prefer the broader physique/proportions and the headsculpt. Plus I find the dark spray down the yellow on the Select to be far more unpleasant looking than the paintjob on the Legends costume. I'll agree with the skin on the Select being better, though.

Hey Glenn, you should get the X-Men Classics Colossus figure. Imo, he is the best one combining great aspects found in both the Marvel Legends and Marvel Select figures. He is the one I display with my X-Men. :)

Select by far! I like how you can take his shirt off and see the fully sculpted chest! With big characters like Colossus I think he can fit in with the Legends.

reminds me of when i asked which Colossus you think is better. Nice to see that question answered. To my knowledge there was a rerelease of the Legends Colossus in X-men classics, painted similarly to the Select. Personally i want to get my hands on that one, mostly because of my scale preference, but i also just love poseable hands. Great review Glenn

That's the one I have in my X-Men display doing the fastball with Wolvie in the air. It does look more like the Select version with a cleaner paint scheme and not like the battle damaged version shown here.

Good points about the bulbousness of the Legends, that's always kind of bothered me. But the Select just doesn't have any consistency of character - it doesn't look naturally posed in motion or as stationery, typical with Select. The face looks unfinished, too. I'll stick with my Toybiz Colossus

Wow, I can't believe you actually compared these two. I mean, the Select Colossus is just so much superior in comparison. The sculpt, detail, and even the articulation is right next to the Legends version. Just my opinion, but the Legends one just looks so disproportionate and goofy looking.
