I had a few mishaps while recording this review over several days, from not hitting record to the microphone coming unplugged for the last half of the wave. But the Hasbro Marvel Legends What If...? Watcher wave is a fun set of action figures so I didn't mind going back and reshooting some of them. Well, okay, there was some initial cursing, but you know me. Any excuse to play some more.

As much as I like zombie Cap and the Strange head sculpt, Ultron/ Vision should look amazing if they make another wave!

w2 needs to have One Who Remains/Kang. but yeah, Infinity Ultron needs to be the BAF. or Frost Loki. Party Thor, skinny!Steve, Pym-YJ, Yondu, (Sakaar?) Battle Gamora, and debating on Sakaar!Tony or leave it open for now for someone else we'll see tomorrow or in next week's finale.

Im pretty sure the Spidey body paint is based on the Disney World/Land costumes, since its sony who owns him, so in What If they had to go with that Disney park costume, but im not 100% Keep up the dope reviews Robo!!

Zombie hunter spider-man needed something more I'm not just sure what. Like he looks like the episode but maybe some rips in the costume more blood since he has been surviving in the apocalypse. Maybe besides the cape he should have had one more item from another fallen hero.

Still find it weird that zombie cap doesn’t have a BaF part bust Sylvie does. I know it’s because cap is double packed but… If you only want the animated stuff you end up with a random Sylvie. If you don’t want the animated stuff but you want the live action MCU you end up with a random bit of watcher.

The Doctor Strange hand with the spell effect piece is the same as from the movie Strange that comes in the Strange/Thanos/Iron Man 3-pack. One I wish came with a different arm that doesn't have effects on it.

Regarding the Spidey costume, I've heard that Disney doesn't have rights to the MCU Spidey costume outside of the films, which is why his outfit in the episode and on the figure (AND matches the one from Avengers Campus at Disneyland) is different.

Great review of the wave Robo! This is the first wave I've fully preordered since the Venompool BAF last year and this assortment looks just as fun. With Season 2 having been confirmed it's only a matter of time until we see a second wave of What if characters. (Minor Spoilers) I'd love: Party Thor Hank Pym Yellow Jacket The Collector Howard the Duck Armored Gamora Post-Apocalyptic Black Widow Zombie Iron Man Ultron/Vision BAF 3 Pack of Ravager Thanos, Korath, and Yondu (pack in Cosmo the Space Dog accessory?) 3 Pack of Bucky, Dum Dum Dugan, and Skinny Steve EDIT: After the last ep I’ve decided so would rather have the collector be the baf and have UltraVision be a deluxe release

I had the same problem with Captain Carter’s feet. I ended up turning the pegs in the ankles 180 degrees in order to get her to stand up. I think the factory just put them in backwards.

A small but welcomed update, IMHO, is the Spider-Man “thwip” hands. Compared to earlier sculpts where the point and pinky fingers are straight, this time it has a natural curl to the hand pose; which is anatomically correct. Try it. Someone at Marvel Legends is paying attention.

I really only want Sylvie from this wave. I think they should have had her without a BAF piece also. I did get a Watcher from eBay for a very good price. He works perfectly as an MCU version from the scene with Stan Lee.

I really don't like the way that Hasbro is doing capes now. Ever since The Hood, all of their capes are a serious hindrance to articulation. They sit on the shoulders and lay over the arms and so it looks ridiculous if you bring the arms up. I hope they figure out something better soon. Kills it for Hood, Silvie, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange.

I know it's not going to happen, but I would love every figure in this wave to be re-released as part of a comic wave, with a repaint to match. These are cool characters, I'm just not that invested in the animated figures, it would be awesome to have a Captain Carter, Star Lord T'Challa etc with the right shelf. (Yes Zombie Cap is absolutely going to get a repaint, that is pretty certain) but there is no rules that the shelf has to be 100% accurate, there are 6 characters on here, 5 of which could fit on a shelf (A spiderman without a butterfly joint belongs on no shelf, ever)

I should have gotten the Spider-Man. I just needed that one piece to complete the Watcher. I do have the Select version. I passed on him because I don't need any more Spider-Man, but now I still have an incomplete BAF. I use the Nebula as a Kree, and the T'Challa as a soldier for the Kingpin. I use that Dr. Strange as my Futuristic Dr. Strange on my Earth 818.

You are not the only one who has had watcher arm problems. I am not a fan of this wave and the Watcher being a statue lead to me cancelling most of this pre-order. I am keeping zombie cap and Captain Carter plus the Hydra Stomper but the rest are a pass. I just don't see what I would do with the other animated characters. Great job as usual.

I hope they make a lot of the zombie heroes. I think it would make for a fun display. Get some broke building diorama and choose your favorite heroes to survive while a horde of zombie heroes is outside trying to brake in. Looking forward to see if they do a wave 2 for the What if line. I think either a build a figure or a larger figure like the hydra stomper would be great for those mech bots they had in the iron-man episode a nice army builder.

Love the review! Few points: 1) that Nebula would look amazing with the endgame 2pk extra Nebula head and MAYBE a swap of the left Omega sentinel normal left forearm for a kit-bashed modern comicy Nebula, 2) if you give 2pk Winter Soldier Zombie Cap’s shield: BOOM! What if Bucky! 3) Movie T’challa head would be badass on Starlord to better integrate the look with the mcu. Love the options of this wave! What a fun assortment!
