a lot of what kept Necropotence in check was that you didn’t draw the cards right away and had to decide ahead of time how much life to pay. So it’s not just that Yawgmoth’s Bargain is more mana, it also removed one of the balancing factors of Necropotence. Both are pretty broken though, of course.

I enjoyed the segment zero. Personally, I was planning on getting into standard but the UB announcement killed any excitement I had for the format, and got me to put together and order my first premodern deck, as well as a modern 2015 deck. I think UB being standard legal does make sense, as it's the best way for new players to learn the game. But I also think that rention will be low, because after the UB set, will they stick around for a magic set? or another IP's set? Time will tell. Magic is still the best game ever made in my opinion, and it's completely up to us players how to play it. So I'll be voting with my feet and wallet.

48:00 I think it is ok for captain america to be also red because he is a soldier and soldiers and fanatism tend to be WR. I'd say he is more WR than WU but that's just my opinion.
