That reference to The Defenders is awesome not just because it's recognising a team that will never get enough love in my eyes, but it acts as a subtle reference to Hulk's character development. As The Defenders as a series really defined Hulk's more childlike personality and showed him in a more comedic light. With both Hulk and Doctor Strange here essentially noting how he's grown beyond that state. Becoming more well spoken and self controlled.

It adds more confusion for me imo, I remember in the early Ultimate Spiderman comics Peter has a couple issues where he thinks hes an X Man styled mutant and is paranoid about it. He then meets the actual X Men who tell him hes not "like" them as the spider did mutate him but he doesnt have an X Gene. Bruce is the same he got blasted with gamma radiation and hes now the hulk. I dont hate your idea in fact id prefer more non mutant heroes fighting for the X Men but it gets so muddled in marvel that sometimes I feel like it should be separated entirely.

@wolfman2104 ай бұрын
@@nikhilcruz Getting mutated through radiation is "natural mutation" mutation is nothing more than the genome being altered in a way that's permanent and can be passed down to offspring. Radiation is actually the most common way mutations occur that can be replicated reliably. The other way mutations happen is when our DNA makes an oopsie during the building process but understandably chance genetic freak accidents are hard to replicate scientifically.

it's actually a quirk of Hulk. Banner has different Hulk forms because he was Multiple Personality Disorder. Two of them look almost the same with the difference being intelligence. They're called Professor Hulk and Savage Hulk. Professor has more confidence and keeps Bruces Smarts, Savage is the big dumb Brute we know and love. Prof comes out during a calm emotional state and Savage is run on high stress. Sometimes one turns into the other without needing to shift back to Bruce first.

It took 40 years but Magneto * of all X-Men * finally calling out Marvel's arbitrary definition of "mutant" as bullshit is so fricking cathartic. The X-Men,Fantastic Four,Hulk,Spider-Man and Captain America are ALL mutants by the scientific definition.
@GriffinProductions4 ай бұрын
They're mutates, not mutants. Marvel has had this designation for decades. Mutants are born with an X-Gene that automatically activates their powers in puberty, Mutates are humans born without an X-Gene who get powers from a source that mutates their dna in a different way.
@wolfman2104 ай бұрын
@@GriffinProductions And it's an arbitrary and useless distinction that ignores science and only exists so Marvel doesn't have to explain why people love the Fantastic Four and Captain America but hate the X-Men. Hell by scientific definition X-gene carriers are probably not even mutants but an evolution of homo sapiens. Magneto was right indeed.
