Game was awesome man. Just finished it yesterday. Took a gamble on a preorder and it most definitely paid off. Writing and voice acting were on point and I actually found myself liking this version of the team better than the MCU. Honestly, I thought Starlord was going to be a douche, mostly because of the hair, but your performance was top knotch and I really enjoyed it. Congrats. The word of mouth on this game seems to be phenomenal. Hope we get some dlc and a sequel in the works. One of the biggest surprises of the year.

I hope this game will sell like hot cakes to show the industry that we don't want micro transactions. We want great Single Player stories. There is a place for Multi Player if it's done right but Single Player games aren't going anywhere. I'm definitely buying it.

I'm all for single-player games (more than multi that's for sure), but they don't need to be dull corridor simulators that just have a bunch of cutscenes. No one would give this a second look if it wasn't a "Marvel" game.

Nice to see a lot of people liking this, when so many previews for the game kind of had us all agreeing the game didn't look that great. I'll probably pick this up on a holiday sale in a couple of months, because I got plenty of games to occupy me right now. I'm nearing the end of Yakuza Like a Dragon right now, and will be moving on to Psychonauts 2 next (plus The Forgotten City comes to Game Pass this week and I wanted to check it out, too).

You're in for a treat with Psychonauts 2, I platinumed it recently. It's a very good game with a great story and nuanced characters.

The only Marvel content I've consumed in the last 5 years was Insomniac's Spider Man and Miles so I have no idea what's going on with all the releases. That being said this just looks like a fun space adventure and I am keen to give it a go! I don't think there's a Season Pass annoucned either, that's great news.

@@MyStrongTower34 superhero movies are really unappealing to me, I was caught up until around age of Ultron/Ant Man/GOTG2 or there abouts and got sick of watching the same movie every time. I only ever had a passing interest and never loved any of them. But, that kind of thing just isn't to my tastes anymore and really don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Games though, when its from a dev I like I absolutely need to give it a go!

I didn't expect much out of this game, but the good reviews made me want to check it out. Now about 5 chapters in and I am loving it! Unless the combat wears out it's welcome or the story takes a really bad turn I feel like this is going to turn into a 9/10 kind of game for me. They did a great job with this game.

Nice to learn the game is good, I'm passing on it for a while as I got burned after buying Avengers at full price and I don't want to make the same mistake again. Eidos games usually have massive price drops after the first few months anyways.

@@stonehorn4641 I definitely wouldn't put Deathloop over Psychonauts 2 which I gave a 9. Psychonauts 2 and Valheim are superior in my opinion. I'd put Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart above it as well.

A minor complaint, but I notice that the characters mocap often seems a little too animated, like they can't quite come to rest. It something I've noticed in several games where mocap is used.

it is good, the combat does grow stale as you go on, since you dont really get diferent weapons, at most a few diferent element shots that are situational at best as well as some cool abilities, and fun co-op shenanigans(single player co-op, imagine ffxv buddy sistem). the best way to describe it is, imagine FFXV + ME but a VERY simple(but functional and fun) combat.

It’s a mod that Rocket puts on Quills visor where he makes bets on eliminating certain enemies. Not always there.

I mean, personally I was super sceptical and all the things I was worried about are called out in the review. Everything gameplay wise had some kind of negative to it. Feels like reviewers are either very lenient nowadays or just that the game is greater than the sum of its parts.

Big fan of GOTG but I had low expectations for this game after the initial reveal. Needless to say I ended up loving it. Some of the best character banter/dialogue in a game in a very long time. I liked these versions of the Guardians far more than their MCU counterparts, especially Drax and Gamora. Gameplay could've been better but everything else was fantastic.

can someone help me...so I'm new to pc gaming and my question is how do you open up guardians mode? i see a picture of an arrow but I can't find out how it works..I tried the arrow keys then the arrow in the number pad and finally thought that the arrow had a mouse pad in the background but it doesn't make any sense i obviously cant move the mouse upwards because it says to hold with the arrow pointing up and thats impossible ...i can't progress until i tell the tree to make a bridge...and i can't seem to post on steam only look at posts

It's L1 on PS. I can't tell you how that translates to PC. There was a tutorial early on that told how to use it.

A little surprised by the score in contrast to the review. It seemed like everything was lackluster except the cast and story which understandably don't quite shine in a review of this format. It's buggy, runs poorly and the choices don't actually matter in the grand scheme of things contrary to what was advertised. 8 is usually a pretty good score so I wonder if it's just a case that it's greater than the sum of its parts, but the review didn't really make that apparent. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the tone of the review and I'll eat my words if I try it out for myself.

They mentioned that the bugs are definitely minor and should be fixed with a day 1 patch. The also highlighted the exploration was rewarding and the combat while potentially repetitive at actually had some levels of nuance to it.

Yea, after just beating it, the bugs are very minor for a big release game. And it has run great for me personally. And the choices do matter a bit. The end story is the same (which is fine btw) but choices do change parts of the game and how it plays, which is cool. And changes up dialogue etc.

Same and the camera looks atrocious. I don't know why reviews put this little focus on gameplay. Half this video is Peter shooting at Jell-o. There's no mention of the boss or bosses. The exploration could've been great, but it's "simplistic".

@@Ayoul yea there are a pretty good amount of boss fights. The first one is pretty epic. Also the combat is no more repetitive than say mass effect etc. Its not the most amazing, but still fun enough for the entire 18 hours it took me to beat. Also there are more enemy types than just jello haha Thats just what they decided to show for this. And the exploration is similar to Tomb raider and uncharted.

I'm interested for the story, but... the combat looks really uninspiring. Does it deviate ever from basically locking on, circle strafing while holding down the shoot button and occasionally pressing one other button to make your teammate do their "special attack"?

I don't completely understand why this game is getting 9's and 10's. It's definitely not bad, but it's nothing special either. The combat just gets boring after awhile and it's just talking, talking, and more talking. You watch this game more than you play, and that's just a missed opportunity. It should've been kinda open-world, where you can take your ship and (re)visit some of the planets. A missed chance if you ask me, especially since the developers are also responsible for the awesome Deus Ex games Humans Revolution and Mankind Divided.

I must say from the moment this game was announced I found it strange how tentative and even condescending at times the allies were towards this game. I thought it looked great from the first trailer and the humour hit every time. I'm glad it's now getting the recognition it deserves. Guardians 3 when?......

I really liked the graphics, soundtrack and story of the game. Top notch. But OMG the gameplay, specially the combat, is dreadful. You only play like a lame 3rd person shooter. On chapter 3 or 4 I switched down the game difficulty just because I wanted the combat to get over asap
